Give the people what they want.
« on: June 04, 2009, 09:43:50 AM »
I'm looking to make this kind of an unofficial center for voting for aircraft to be added into AH.  I'm not expecting anything on this thread to count for anything but just trying to get an idea as to what would be the most sought after plane to be added to the game.

So here's how I'm going to set this up.  Its gonna be a three part voting process with the length of each section depending on the popularity of this thread.

Section #1.  You vote for up to ten aircraft, vehicles or boats that you would like to see. (no subs as the capability does not exist for them to operate yet.) These aircraft will form the pool that we will pick out of from then on.

Section #2.  The results are sorted out to make a list of the top 10, 20, or whatever seems the most practical.  after this list has been made, you will then vote for the one plane on the list that you think should be added.

Section #3.  A list is made from the above and made into a top 5.  Again you will have one vote from that list and the winner of this one will be the unofficial MVP.  Kind of alot of work for nothing, huh?

Now what I would like to avoid is any posts that don't involve a vote.  So If someone votes for a plane that you don't like, this isn't the place to start flaming him.  This is also a pole for the planes only and not any special feature you would like them to have ( don't suggest radar for night fighters or A-bombs for B-29 etc.).  In reality you should only really post once per section and I'm hoping we can all be mature about this.

So here is a template of what the majority of this thread should look like.

#1. B-29
#2. A-26
#3. Betty
#4. Pe-8
#5. Piaggio P.108
#6. He-177
#7. Beaufighter
#8. Mig-3
#9. Tu-2
#10. Wellington

Think we can manage something like this?

I'll bite.

1. Mitsubishi A6M3 (easy model off existing)
2. Heinkel He-111 (Germans need more buffs, helps early war)
3. Petlyakov Pe-2 (must have Russki attacker)
4. Dornier Do-217 (Outstanding plane with potential for various loadouts and models -used by Italian RA))
5. Mitsubishi Ki-21 Sally (Best Japanese early war bomber)
6. Mig-3 (good start for early war Russian AC)
7. Reggiane Re2000 Falco (widely used Italian AC that is not uber like the Saggitario)
8. Cantz1007 Alcione (best widely used Italian bomber)
9. Ilyushin Il-4 (excellent Russian medium with good production numbers->5,000)
10. Vickers Wellington (strong plane, formed backbone of early British bomber command, bulk of first 1K plane raid)

lol, Moot cooking with gas (as they say in America)

the HE-111 would be a great addition, but overall, I think most of the newer planes should be in Japanese and Russian plane sets. .
Yak-3 is one plane I think should be added - spacifically the high qualiity (U) version that came out very very late in the war.

Since it's only 10 I'll be completely selfish. :)

Heinkel He 111 (Germany)

Junkers Ju 52/3m (Germany)

Yakovlev Yak 1, 7, and 3, along with the graphics update for the Yak 9T and U (USSR)
(Yak 1 Pictured)

Savoia-Marchetti SM 79 (Italy)

Petlyakov Pe 2 (USSR)

Polikarpov I 16 (USSR)

Mid-War German Medium bomber, either Junkers Ju 188 or Dornier Do 217
(Ju-188)

(Do-217)

Lavochkin, Gorbunov, Goudkov LaGG 3 (I don't understand why they didn't add this when they redid the other Lavochkins, I guess what we have is too far gone...) (USSR)

Curtiss P 36 (United States, used by various nations such as France and Finland, seen in French markings)

Vickers Wellington (Great Britain)

Senseless thread. Not to mention its extremely redundant one.
If HTC will need our opinion to decide what add next, they will make ingame poll, like they did once already.

So, dont hold your breath.
