I know, it kinda gets boring after a while. Maby even change the winds as the day wears on or just have winds pick up at around noon, thats what happens where I live. We could just have a cloudy day, it wouldn't even have to rain or anything, just change up the color a little, know what I'm saying?

a REAL cloud layer would be pretty cool IMO, kinda like what we have now but MUCH thicker (cant level bomb through it accurately) with actual clouds, not the thin "haze layer" kinda thing that is there now.  obviously it wouldn't be everywhere all the time or even at the same alt.

I love it when there are lots of clouds, makes it more immersion and gives a better sense of "flight"

It does. But I think some people would probably be annoyed at not being able to levle bomb EVERYWHERE, ALL THE TIME, and at EVERY ALT.   And I bet you 100 grand that some of them are to ones that say boo to a plane just because it didn't have QUITE a long enough service record. It is kind, wrong, I mean you can't say "Nope sorry, that plane wasn't used enough; it wouldn't be real enough" in one thread and say "Oh no, we can't have clouds that would make it impossible to levle bomb accurately, it would get kind annoying it I couldn't bomb that place 24/7 even if I don't want to. Besides this game is about flying and if you put in rain and storms then you can't fly." I'm sorry guys but if you want this game to be realistic and are requesting "real shadows in the cocpit" then you can't say no to a change of scenery.

I'm just saying, you shouldn't go asking for something as miniscule as shadows and then say boo to something as big as weather change just because you migh have to attack a different base.

We have weather all the time in special events. Clouds obscuring targets, wind, nighttime, fog, etc.

The game can do it (other than precip).. It's just not very useful for the main arena, I don't think..

Question???

So with the addition of WX. Would there be Windsheer, Vertigo, Thermals, Down drafts and other associated weather related events found in real aviation weather?

Of coarse the Vertigo would come only if a pilot absolutely refused to read his instruments.  :lol

hell, I dont even care if its just "static" weather..  I.E. constant wind direction and speed.. its still better than nothing at all..  but yea ideally there would be like a weather "cycle" that perhaps rotates through every 4 hours or so.

This is why I say no, besides the historical "scrubbed due to...", to the weather thing.

Constant velocity from a constant direction at a constant altitude isn't weather.  It's just an annoying force vector.

yea, wind sure is annoying, stupid, blowing my air all around, who needs it.

and perhaps wind that didn't change wouldn't be "weather" but it would be a step in the direction towards weather..  and one must walk before one can crawl, my young wrongway.

Wingnout, you trying to soud like a jedi or a monk? It could have been either, however, it kinda leans toward monk. Well anyway, I just watched the vidieo in the 'eye candy' thread and there was snow an the ground, it was cloudy, but not snowing. I think this would be a great thing to have in the game; you could just make it so changes at midnight or noon. Noon is probably not the BEST time as it will change when a lot of people are playing, wheras midnight most people are in bed sleeping with a tedybear, I know I am :D (just kiding).

Just found a new reason to change the weather or atleast the seasons. Panzers stickout like a sore thum in our all green terrain. If we can't get snow then at least make it so the season changes (summer-green, spring-brownish at first then goes to green but not summer green, fall-green at first but turns brown, winter-since you all seem oposed to snow then how abount brown grass?).

I scanned through the thread and didn't see anyone mention that HTC already implemented a dynamic weather system. It created moving cloud fronts and all sorts of things. Then when the arena reset at 1-2 A.M. Pacific Time and the server hung trying to deal with the new system, Skuzzy killed it and it seems the project was shelved.
