The only thing rain/thunder storms would do for me is ground me.  I would bail out of the game until good weather, or at least decent weather returned.

Also, put me down as one of the people that does NOT enjoy flying AH during twilight times (when the sun has set).

As large as most of the maps are,  weather would only effect certain areas, at a certain time...there would still be thousands of miles of clear sky to fly in.

Also put me on the list of people who ENJOY flying at night and twilight

This game has no connection with Air Warrior.  Hitech did work on "Warbirds" which was a competitor to Air Warrior.

The notion the "everybody" complained about night and weather is simply not true.  A very vocal minority beat the drum to have it taken away from us.  Most of this "Minority"  continues to demand that we play this game in a test tube,  under perfect laboratory conditions.  Sadly most of these folks are real fine pilots, why they cant handle a few rain drops,  and a brief period of darkness is beyond me.  I'm not very good, and I could handle it with ease.  In fact I enjoyed it. Let's keep in mind that it was only dark for 5min. The overall cycle from sunset... to darkness.... to sunup ....took less then 2hrs.  There was only maybe 15min where it was really dark.  There was a full moon out so there was plenty of light.  I think its sad that so many talented players could not deal with it.  When their WW 2 counter parts dealt with it everyday.

Environment is a major component to armed conflict in any endever.  Why we are forced to fly in a "test tube" is beyond me.  Night and weather  don't scare me.  It sure seems to frighten others.   I could see fine.  Heck I was playing on 15 inch monitor and i could see fine.

Actually I believe a majority of the minority would log out when dark came leaving a minority of the majority actually flying and being unable to find a fight due to the fact that a majority of the minority was no longer on line and the minority of the majority couldn't find the other majority of the minority to fight because they couldn't see.

Besides, what's the point of having "darkness" if you merely adjust your gamma so it's not really dark anymore?  Fighting at "night" in the "light"?

Pointless.

The only part of this I don't get is "Why can't I fly from a rainy base?" It is possible to take off in rain. The rain just makes it harder to see.

Storms bring with them wind, and usually strong shifting winds, as well as a low cloud deck... low visibility... These are generally very dangerous conditions for aircraft to fly in, which is why large storms grounded aircraft in real life.

   I had no problem seeing.

I rarely ....if ever.... adjusted my gamma.  If i did i might have bumped it up maybe .2 ...but I rarely did that.

I am sorry you have trouble with your sight.  I had no problem what so ever seeing.  The full moon provided plenty of light.

why is it every time someone brings up "weather" everyone immdiatly thinks they are asking for thunderstorms and 0 visibility?

some light wind, moving clouds, a little rain now and then.... weather..  not monsoon season, not Noa's flood.. just a little weather.

And even the storms wouldn't be THAT hard; AH2 could plan out for the month when the storms will be and insert that into the arenas, or maby if they really want to they could pre-develope multiple types of storms and insert them as the wheather is where they are.

I would love light variable wind, clouds etc. to break up the monotony a bit.

I agree, other than I like flying in the calm.  The key, which I keep saying, is variable.  Like real wind or weather that shifts around, maybe only a few degrees, or uyp and down a bit vesus 10knts from the SE at 2005 feet, continuosly.

Why do people assume "monsoon season"?  Because the wish is always for rain, snow, zero visibility.  Not VFR stuff.  Seems this wish is even rooted in a "I don't want others to drop bombs on my gv" type theme.

Not so much a "how can we enhance the game" as "how can I not die" wish.

hell, I dont even care if its just "static" weather..  I.E. constant wind direction and speed.. its still better than nothing at all..  but yea ideally there would be like a weather "cycle" that perhaps rotates through every 4 hours or so.
