It's a faster, smaller Yak 9U.  What would it add other than being faster and smaller?

While I'm not against adding any plane, don't really see the need for another Late War Uber plane.

Yes, I would fly it.

:O  This may have been the best fighter of WW2 on any front according to alot of folks who fought with them and against them, so of course it deserves it's place here in the game. Perk it lightly like a spit XIV and let the games begin :)

What he doesn't say is that the Yak-3 is reported to turn as well as (if not better than) a spitfire. Would definitely take up 33% or more of the entire arena if ever released unperked.

I have no doubt that it is going to be a perked ride.

It would add another fighter to the most under-represented air force in the game? The VVS only has two domestic fighters in it's late war set.

According to wikipedia the P model only entered production in April 1945 (a month before the war ended), which lasted until mid 1946. I doubt we'd get the P, then, but we have the 3x Berezin La 7 so I wouldn't rule it out...

Even with the standard anaemic ammo count of the Russian planes ? I seriously doubt.

I was about to disagree with you  but you are probably right.  More of an ENY 5 plane probably.  Almost perked.

April is one month before august ?

Referring to the was in Yurp, I'm sure.  May....?

In theory the Soviet also where at war with Japan but I'm nit picking as their contribution to victory was almost null  :)

Bring it on. :aok I prefer the "feel" of the Yaks to the LAs. Tho I dont know why you would perk the Yak-3p.

Yak-3P year-1944 engine-M-105PF2 armament-B-20M & 2 B-20S 370 20mm rounds altogether Load 0 Speed sea level-572 KMPH speed at Alt 646 at 3900 climb to 5km- 4.8 mins turn-19 seconds climb turn-1400 meters ceiling 10.05 KM range 610km weight 2708kg produced-596

LA-7 year-1945 engine M-82FN armament- 3 B-20S 450 rounds total load 2 FAB-100kg bombs speed sea level 615 KMPH speed at Alt 670kmph at 6000 climb to 5km 4.3 minutes Range 635km ceiling 10.5km turn time 10.5 seconds weight 3300

So the unperked 3 cannon LA-7 carrys more 20mm rounds, is faster both at sea level and alt, climbs better, turns better "close", carries ords while the Yak doesn't, and has more range. So why would you perk the Yak?

In fact the Yak-9U outperforms the 3P in speed and climbs/turns about the same. The only difference is, of course, the 3 cannon.

Which would earn the Yak-3P a 5 eny, or close, but certainly no perk price.

Its not anemic, it only holds the amount of ammo needed to maneuver and take shots you know you will and can make.

I genuinely believe this will be in the update somewhere.   As a kick bellybutton fighter hasnt been added since the Spit 16.

If the la7 and spit 16 aren't perked I dont see why this would be with such a pitiful ammo load out (the majority of AH population cant hit a barn door)  let alone a small nimble little fighter such as a yak).  It will be frickin fast and manouvreable though.  The prop equivalent of the  ME163.    :devil
