Today i saw for the first time an Avro Vulcan what a pleasant to see and hear this great old bomber.
By the way the bomber was flown by the pilot who did the first bombrun on the Flaklands.
What a legends!!

It was designed as a nuclear bomber it even was painted white to reflect the flash.
I just guess it had something to do with.
Not all had a rejection seat btw.
This was at Volkel Airbase Netherlands.
I believe its flying there today too.

I use to see them flying all the time when I was stationed at Offutt AFB NE in the early 80's. They have a very distinct engine sound compared to US aircraft. (Brits. had a detachment stationed there.)

couple of questions tho:
1. in the last pic is it just me or does the exhaust nozzle looke kinda bent on the right outboard? I dont think they used thrust vectoring on the vulcan but who knows
2. nvm the cockpit window question already got asked/answered
