There's nothing wrong with the occasional vulch-fest.  In fact it's a time honored tradition.  They even did it in real life for you realism guys.

I get about 3-4 vulch kills per camp.  It's fun whacking n00bs who think they can get airborne off a capped field.  It's all part of the learning experience.

well put baldeagle.   I also get a kick out of the runway warriors that FAIL big time to vulch properly.   I bet only 1 in 5 vulches in aces high are actually executed to perfection, maybe less.

And that is why vulching is being lost as a true art form.

I like it when I vulch guys like you that think that if they can manage to get wheels up then they'd get their 'revenge' only to end up in the tower just as quickly as when I vulched them.

I've gotten my "revenge" a few times, thank ya, albeit not againt you, Sir Ack-Ack.  :aok

I despise the vulch. I cannot make myself do it, even when my countryment are engaged in it. I'd rather circle and wait for someone to up and take a cheap shot at them while they're on the ground.

That being said, there's one redeeming quality to being vulched.... the anger and frustration you feel when you're vulched repeated by some score hound..

Seems like a bit of faux indignation to me.  Why keep upping from a base where you are clearly at a disadvantage if it is going to cause you so much 'anger and frustration'.

Just dumb and stubborn, I suppose.  :)

Mostly, 1) I don't care about my score, 2) I don't want to fly 10 minutes to get back int he fight, and 3) it's an extra reward to finally get off the runway and actually fight back successfully.

And of course it's only truly cartoon 'anger and frustration' being as we're all cartoon pilots...

But mostly dumb and stubborn.

that much sweeter when you finally do get wheels up, grab a little alt, and then proceed to T&B and shoot his sorry F4U-4 down.

And that's no JOKE, either.

Little melodramatic don't you think?

You missed the hidden gem, there. Sorry.

That all being said, I still do not, and will not, vulch a runway.  :salute

The thing I just don't get is: what's so fun about shooting helpless planes?  I might be able to understand that this might be the only way a raw noob can get a kill and it makes him/her feel better, but I can't see what it is about vulching that would make any of you vets feel good.

Do you get a kick out of shooting at the .target bullseye too?

I guess it's no different than shooting or bombing helpless GV's or bombing or straffing helpless buildings either.  It's all just part of the game.

By your reasoning I should let the planes off the runway to kill our M3's or Goons?  Or let one then another then another up until we lose cap?  Next time I'm in a tank I guess I should let the M3 get to the maproom and let his troops out because for all intents and purposes he's undefended against me?

Please... I'm all for a good fight but there's a time and a place for everything in this game.

I won't go out of my way to vulch but I hate flying 25 miles to a fight only to have the fight die because someone killed the FH at the field. When that does happen, I'll keep myself busy killing bombers until the FH comes back up. Usually then, I'll back away and allow them to up.

He's saying vulching for vulching's sake.

I don't do that.  I do it because there's a goon or an M3 on the way or there will be shortly or at least I hope there will be.  Plus that I'm almost always in fighter mode, rarely in attack, so surpressing the field is more appropriate than straffing buildings for me.

I mean really... 3-4 vulch kills per camp out of hundreds?... whoohoo!  I'm a vuching maniac!  <EDITED OUT>
