What I like is when you try to up from a capped base, start the engine and the wheels just start to roll and then someone in the tower gives you the inevitable check 6 like there's some magic move your going to make to avoid getting vulched.
I'd rather get it than not.  You can always smash the plane to a stop in a hurry, or fly thru a hangar if the vulcher's got no cannons.

Not boring to me.

I don’t care about my score, but I vulch in a heart beat and enjoy it very much. It is how I get most of my kills.  :D

Unfortunately I usually I do a nose plant and the guy I was trying to vulch gets a kill without getting lifting his wheels.  :aok

i would bet the author of this thread spends a lot of time getting vulched trying to save already lost bases.

Nope.  I look around from the tower to see what might be out there; maybe I get vulched, maybe not.  If there's more than one circling I usually go elsewhere.  I don't give two hoots about saving/taking bases.  I up because I like to fight - air or ground.  I actually enjoy defending more than taking, cuz I don't have to go far to get to the fight.  Defending a base that's a lost cause, to me, is much the same as any other base - there's a fight to be had.

If there's a swarm of red guys and I'm the only green guy, then I'll move on...no sense in upping just to have 4+ guys drop on you while more are at the town dropping 20 troops, and letting them pad their scores and get all "We r teh l337...you couldn't stop us."

It's a blast to log in, see 8 guys pound a country with nobody defending, switch to that side and eff them up cuz they weren't expecting any resistance.

The point of my OP was just to share that I found vulching to be boring, because there is no skill or effort needed - no fight to be had.

Vulchin' the same guys who up a B-25h and drive around on the ground to kill GV's can be quite rewarding. :D

wow this is great stuff guys...
i know some of you that are all saying you never vulch or that you think its cheap or that it lacks ethics...LMMFAO
when i am at a capped base and the tard is stupid enough to try to up....hes dead! and most of the time i cant even get in for the kill cause
a lot of you so called :i never do that: guys are sending tracers through my plane just to get one more kill.
GET REAL folks. if your trying to capture a base your really gonna let the guy get wheels up so he has a fighting chance?
I doubt it very much but you all just keep riding that tiny life raft of BS and say you would never ever do that cause your such good people and all.
I am not confused at all that if i up from a capped field i may be vulched so most of the time i choose not to do it. does it anger me when i get vulched....yep but i am responsible for that.

i would bet the author of this thread spends a lot of time getting vulched trying to save already lost bases.

M'kay, you may think it's a "tiny life raft of BS," but it's my life raft and my $15. It's not a matter of anyone being "good people" but truly a matter of trying to maintain a level of "good game play." As far as I'm concerned, vulching is no less chickens#!t than HOing. You opinions may differ. More power to ya. Here's your cookie.  :lol

FWIW, I've been vulched plenty. In 100% of the cases it's my fault because I chose to try and up. Just like it's 100% the fault of the person who gets HO'ed for allowing themselves into a nose-nose with a HOer.

But whatever, it's part of the game. I'm not losing any sleep over it. Wait... actually, I would sleep a lot more if I weren't up playing this @#&^ game!

One of the coolest things I have ever seen in this game was a monstrous furball over a field...  There must have been 50+ attackers and 50+ defenders going at it.  Flak panzers, guns, tracers everywhere.  You'd fly low and fast through it aiming to clear a friend, and if you were lined up to take a shot at one on the runway en route, why not?  It was like attacking the death star or something :D I wish I filmed that flight.

So no, vulching is not "always" boring (I do think the 3 guys all picking on 1 at an isolated field gets old quick).

Sounds like an awesome fight - the kind of furball I live for an often wind up getting repeatedly killed in. My point is a great furball like that would never have been able to develop if the defenders never made it out of the hanger. Too bad the guys who live to take bases and seem scared of a furball go straight to toolshedding and take out the VH and/or FH so they can have 20:1 odds in their favor and no flak threat. Cause, you know, 20:1 hording is what it's all about.  :huh

vulching is lame, but it is part of AH, don't want to be vulched up from a different field,

me I have vulched,  but not very often, I love the fight, there is no fight in the "vulch"  and I very rarely get vulched (anymore :rofl)

if someone is trying to take a field (lame also) vulch away.

me I love the "fight" thats why I always fly towards the biggest red dar i can find, with the least amount of green guys, I am guaranteed a "fight".

I think I gave away at least a half dozen kills last night, maybe more, from upping at a capped field.  We had ground support, but there weren't too many people willing to up an airplane.

I kept thinking that if about 5 more people consistently tried, we'd have a fun little fight in about 3 minutes.

I hear Target is having a sale on BS life rafts this week....
Your right ....it is my coin i spend so watch me vultch and HO all day long. I like a good fight as much as the next guy but the so called purest in the game don't fly around with there names painted on the side of the plane so I'M just supposed to assume that while entering the merge, there will be a purist at the other end? when i merge
and pull up , go over the top and we are nose to nose i am gonna take the shot. if you end up a flying pile of rubble,
so be it. you wanna call the HOing....well ok, fine by me. in fact i think i would pay double for the pleasure of getting PMd by all the tards that scream about getting HOd.
As for the vultch.....It's just plain fun but if you don't want to do it.....than don't

Really.... the most fun is clipping a plane on the rearm pad <----------- :cry

I see footage of WW2 A/C vultching planes on the ground almost every night on the military channel. Pony's used to loiter 262 air fields to vultch them upon landing.
I don't know bro..... looks like they be havin some fun there...

Cmon.....live it up folks!!!

So...was in EW last night.  4-5 of us were taking a small airbase defended by 3-4 of them (some in armor, some in planes).  Was a good battle - they'd kill our armor, we'd kill theirs - couple of airplanes up and we kill each other.  Town almost down and troops inbound.  The airfield was just deacked.  Since I never vulch, I thought I'd take a couple minutes and see what the attraction is for those that regularly do it.  Killed two planes, took the base a little while later.

What is it about vulching that appeals to those that do it?  I thought it was boring and lame; just as I thought it would be.  Sure, we were supporting the ground troops but that's not the most fun way to do it.  Usually being on the receiving end, I know the frustration and anger it generates.  One must really be a pathetic person to regularly take part in vulch fests.

i'm sure vulching is boring in EW. since the opposition consist of only 8 players(4 are sitting in the tower in a far away airfield).
in LW. a grueling fight to supress the air defense. after many sorties you finally have a mob of friendlies over a deacked field. you, still in your blood lust state of mind know you have to stop every plane from reaching the LVT/C47 because the buildings will resurrect any at moment.  vulching is sometimes a necessity for a capture. it's not something you just do on a whim because "The airfield was just deacked"

i do see where you're coming from though because you are pretty much purely an early war pilot. i wouldn't vulch either if i only had one decent A2A fight every two hours.

you put yourself on the receiving end more than not and it's understandable why you dislike the vulch. nobody likes to get shot down.
ever thought the vulcher doesn't care for vulching either? perhaps he enjoys capturing bases. maybe he would rather have you watching from the tower then trying to stop the capture.
