Outstanding, thanks

Thanks - cool paintings!   But why are we only supposed to look at them in the evening?

If you checked the site you would have seen that there is a story of sorts behind each picture  :P

"Toryu (Dragon Slayer)"

TB-29s of the 500th Bomb Group on a bombing strike against Tokyo on 19 February, 1945. The bombers encountered flak and were attacked by numerous Japanese fighter aircraft - "Tonys",  "Zekes", and Ki-45 "Nicks". A Kawasaki Ki-45 "Toryu" of the 53rd Sentai piloted by 2nd Lt. Osamu Hirose rammed "Z Square 12" a B-29 of the 881st Bomb Squadron. The bomber was cut in two and six parachutes were seen, although one was on fire and it collapsed. Of the five remaining crew members, only one survived. 2nd Lt. Hirose also perished, but his back seater, Corporal Kimio Kato was ejected from the a/c and survived. Most people associate B-29's with the atomic bombing of two cities in Japan. This painting shows us some of the things B-29 crews had to contend with every week - seventeen hour missions, battling flak, fighters, fatigue, weather, and 200 m.p.h. jet streams at high altitude.

Remember towards the end of the war they had the bombers fly their missions lower to be more accurate

The attacker must have been Rook.

I knew it!  This is a subliminal hint from HTC that we are getting the B-29!  Otherwise, why would Fuzeman, who is a AH CM, therefore sort of an unofficial official representative type spokesman for HTC comment on a picture which clearly shows a B-29?  Makes perfect sense, right?

Also, notice that Fuzeman DID NOT comment on the picture of Pappy, thereby putting to rest the persistent rumors that Skuzzy was going to change his CPID to "PAPPY" .  I hope this helps to clear everything up!

I believe Curtis Lemay had the B-29s go in at low altitudes for the fire bombing raids.   Being attacked from above is plausible.

Without having to hit a difinitive small target and just hitting a city with fire bombs, it seems dagerously counter productive to go in low.

Being lazy, I just wiki'd Curtis Lemay.  It says that he ordered the defensive guns removed and the bombers to go in at 5,000 to 9,000 feet over Tokyo.
