Yep, it will also mean the N1k will have DRAG for once. Auto butterfly flaps created lotsa drag on that thing, I do believe the n1k should be an excellent performer, but once it is fixed it should not be able to do 12g flat turns while losing 20mph and then zooming up as if nothing had happened.
And P-38? Heehee, below 20k the flaps would only help it at really slow fights, but above 20k, beware the twin tailed zeke!
BTW, F4UDOA, do you happen to have/know if the 38 had a tendency to snap roll/spin whenever on a low g turn/plane banked with no pull up on stick when you deploy flaps? Been reading furiously on every pilot account and whatever comes across me and I only see reference to snap rolls on very high-G turns or when an engine was out or when a flap failed to deploy. Seems to me the 38 here spins to that snap roll very easily. Before I got my rudder pedals it was impossible to prevent the spin since I could not react fast enough to prevent the spin. But I wonder... please prove me wrong if possible
