No, as a matter of fact we chose our carrier based on the fact they could disable 'texting' altogether.  I do not see the point in 'texting'.  If I need to get a hold of someone I call them.

See since i'm 16 i feel the need for it, Its much more easier then to call. Since i can text faster then i talk :P but totally understandable that your not for it most adults aren't.

I plan on getting the enV Touch hopefully for free since I know a store owner, hopefully it's a good phone and the battery life isn't what people say it's like.

Same phone as little Mr. ZooZoo and love it.

What do I do?

Text
Text (Most every one of my friends prefers it, even my wife now and yes I am over the age of 25)
BlackBerry Messenger the fool out of people that actually have it (much better than regular texting)
Use my handy Braves.com shortcut to check up on my favorite team
Use Verizon's cool new app that lets me know the name of a song and artist after listening for 10 seconds
Listen to music at the gym, cutting grass, getting ready for a ball game, etc.
Check work and personal e-mail that dings every 10 minutes or so
Watch a few YouTube vids
Facebook a lot
Make a few phone calls every now and then
Check the weather
Cuss and find somewhere to plug it up since the battery is dying again

I make calls.  If I know who is calling, I answer it.  Anything beyond that I consider an added burden and complexity I do not need in my life.

Couldnt agree more! I have 1 cell phone, thats all it does, make calls, and I could count on 1 hand the number of times I've used it.It was gotten purely for emergency calls and thats it. Heck I rarely answer my home phone and if I had my way I wouldnt even have 1 of those.

Those that do not text, prefer real-time interaction with people, as it is more efficient and personable.

I don't like phone calls, but for anything more than banter I'd rather call the person. Issue is, I tend to like girls (:D) and ALL of them are duct-taped, welded, and glued to the texting bandwagon. My current girlfriend actually starts to get anxious the longer she's on the phone.  (<--Wishing for the old rolleyes smilie)

About all I've got to say about that.

What, that you can't chop a YouTube URL down to get rid of the referrers? :D

i bought a $50 pay and go phone a month ago. it works dandy as an alarm clock, and it works nicely to make phone calls...don't need it for anything else, barely need it as is.
