If we get subs then I'm guessing they will be used for hit and run raids on ports as it is unlikely you will be aimed at a cv correctly to fire off a torp or 3.

Hello, aces of the the internet. I have been reading the forums for awhile but never had enough guts to post. with the upcoming hype about the new version and the new vehicles like the Brewster, cant wait btw. I have a outstanding personal interest that I cant keep to myself, and yes I know we have gone over the submarine issue in the past but I have heard rumors surfacing for lack of a better word about our new water which brings up our age old question, submarines. Submarine games are one of the biggest naval warfare games sold today, with four versions of one in particular that employs the latest software code, 3d graphics, and add-on packages. Now to the point, with the new version of aces high I'm hearing subs will work on the waypoint command principal the current CV's work on now. The depth charges will work similar to the 5 inch guns found on the warships (proximity detonation you just have to come close) the depth charges will be mounted on destroyers and tbm's at first to get our community proficient in hunting and destroying our new toy. Submarines periscopes will trigger a DAR bar and flash enemy CV's/ports/airbases the German typed IX fast attack u-boats for example will have a 37mm or 20mm (both were used) antiaircraft battery and a 4.1 inch gun I hope htc will bend corners and go ahead with the five inch gun on the deck (thus making it a threat to coastal towns and ports) with 24 torpedoes with five tubes, four foreward and one aft reloaded over time. I am very excited to hear this news as this nearly completes the naval warfare scenario and will entice a new crowd players that have the passion to command of one of the deadliest weapons of war ever created. Indeed one of our very own htc staff members has had family that served on subs so I think we should give him the respect and opportunity to recreate a part of his own history on The "Internets Premiere WW2 Combat Experience!"

I think you just set a record.  PNG in 5 post and 8 hours.
The fight is the fun........Don't run from the fun!

Would love to see subs int he game, but with the water being 0 altitude, I'd imaging that you'd have to get a new base line or open up negitive numbers. Which usually dont work very well in the computer world. I could be wrong though. If they were inplemented though, Id love to use it for base defense.  :D
Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.

For the first time in a long time I got excited about the thought of subs in the game. While you may not have properly parsed your sentences, at least you used creative writing. :aok

Actually, negative numbers are used quite often when programing games, especially in FLASH. It's usually used for movemement, for example KEY.isDOWN(left)
{
    move = -move.x;
}
That should be self explanitory, but just in case... If the left arrow key is down, then you move along the X axis negative (left) amounts. You could also use rotation but then that opens up for some more complex stuff with radians and all that fun jazz... stupid car racing games, take forever to do just cause of how many lines of code there are, for not that much reward. But then again, that's programing. :D

The problem would be implementing it...
Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of life really are: You only
need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the
WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
