the P38s are some of the easiest planes to learn in the game.....right up there with spitfires imo.

You must have the touch for them.  I can never get them to feel "right" and put in a decent effort a few years ago flying with the 475th.  Something about 2 tails just doesn't work for me :)

just my opinion:  There are so many good points to them.  Excellent top end Speed and burst speed matched with agile maneverability, especially at lower speeds and during vertical engagements.  As a gun platform, P38s are without peer.  Two engines are vastly better than one.  No engine torque.  Visibility is excellent (p38G armored glass notwithstanding).....

Only downsides for me are quick onset of compression and PWs.....

Great rides.

I seem to remember a Mav from AW as well.  The more I think about it the more the name seems to ring a bell.  I've only been here for about 7 months or so myself, so I am not far removed from the helplessness you're feeling now.  I still need to improve a large amount.  Welcome back and I  hope to see you up man!

LOL it could be that Mav is to blame for for my 'flying' as his was the first squad I was ever in, back in Airwarrior :)

He might have gotten you started at it, but you have taken the art to levels where no one else dare follow.  :)

I'm sure with a little practice, you too can land like Guppy.  In fact, as the Grand Exhalted Leader, it is expected that your landings not only rivals those of Guppy's but surpass them as well to show us peons how a true master does it.

I can say that in my opinion DERILIUM is the foremost 38 pilot. With many bullet holes in my canopy to prove it, he would be the one to stick with and learn. I have noticed that being able to isolate your (engine 1)  and (engine 2)  on your stick makes a huge difference(helps with any of the duel engine planes) in turning it on a dime.  Welcome back........<<<!S!>>>

Delirium is OK, but the real master to follow is Stogey.

Yep, I refused to rejoin the 80th Headhunters and Stogey took me into the DA. He beat me soundly twice in a row within seconds each time and I'm back in the 80th.
