Yep, I refused to rejoin the 80th Headhunters and Stogey took me into the DA. He beat me soundly twice in a row within seconds each time and I'm back in the 80th.

I'd love to see film of that!!  That would be 6 months worth of training alone.

It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

I doubt it will help anyone. A arena with only completely unexperienced players means no one to learn from, reinforcing wrong habits. It would be just delaying the "OMG I suck" experience one will get once entering the "regular" MA's. Also it would be a place where misinformation about game (gameplay mechanics, tactics, performance) would almost freely float around due to almost nobody having a clue.

A solution occurs to me. We could have it set up so that everyone can go in the arena, however only people who have a TERRIBLY low ktd ratio or whatever you want to base it on, can shoot and bomb things unless a newb is joined to a plane to observe good tequnique.

No way, no how are you going to get everyone in the game to play by YOUR rules.  Though I share your aggravation, there are times that I just feel like a good furball.

Best solution is to STAY AWAY from the big fights.  Grab your squaddies and plan a strategy to attack a base where nothings going on.

Most likely, those who just go up for the kill wont bother you, they'll be too busy furballing.  The people who show up to thwart your attack are more likely to understand and appreciate the full content of the game.

Did you really just use the word 'strategy' and "attack a base where there is nothing going on", in the same sentence?

I'm thinking he's meaning go and pick a fight somewhere, rather than no resistance base taking Guppy.

It's all unrealistic crap requested by people who want pie in the sky actions performed without an understanding of how things work and who can't grasp reality.

Just curious, is this the only game you don't play or do you also not play that other WW2 game, the one that isn't primarily a flight sim?
