Salute all,

micro stuttering for me too. both in beta version and in current version. low graphic videocard ati x1650. but until last two beta patches and patch 1 for current version no micro stuttering occured so much as actually, and i was able to select shadows options - also to try it. now i cannot do this. my impression is that preloading terrain in memory does't work properly - i cannot see no bar in progress during the preloading phase. frame rate varies from 25 to 55 fps more near low values about 27 - 41 fps. about my pc, packard-bell, xp32bit, 2GB RAM, 2,1 GHz processor, directX 9.0c, 512 MB ati x1650 vidocard 350 MHz processor. before new version my frame rate was 60 fps quite ALWAYS.

Salute.

Pyro,

I get stutter with graphics all on or off, 256,512,1024 res . i did notice it got alot worse when i got
into a GV and was zoomed in on the new trees. Its a stutter constantly about every 2 seconds.

Whels - in your video settings do you have 'Adaptive Anti Aliasing' on if it's an ATI card, or 'Transparency AntiAliasing' on if the card is nvidia? If so, turn it off and try it.

My frame rate is ok but I get stutters in cockpit looking ahead, lowering graphic quality makes no difference, nor does lowering texture.

If anything my framerate has improved. If this can't be fixed,I'll have to wait till I can afford a new system.

I have a low end system so I'm not  to suprised:it ran they old aces High ok maxed out Hi res, this is just a step to far for my rig. :(

Looks great though,I'll hang on a few weeks, see if theirs a fix.

You guys getting stuttering, what is the Vidmem being reported under the frame rate counter.  Not the used, that's incorrect at the moment, just the Vidmem.  Does that number correspond with the amount of memory shown in dxdiag?

Pyro,

According to the numbers shown in game, it is reporting 2161 MB of video, with 2.4 MB of video used. I have a GeForce 9600 GSO with 768 MB of video memory. Here is my DXDIAG information:

vidmem and dxdiag show the same, I was able to minimize the shutters by turning everything AA on application controlled in the catalyst menu.

Ok thanks for the info, just needed to verify that a certain state wasn't being mistakenly triggered.

Can you guys with the stutters provide us the following info:

1-Processor type (please specify single or multiple core)
2- Are you running in compatibility mode.
3- Amount of video memory.
4- Amount of system memory.

We think we've narrowed it down but need to verify.

I would like to add something here. Both Lusche and Wmaker touched on it. I have noticed that the main time that I get the stutters is when moving the view around (and to a lesser extent when rolling or bringing up the clipboard). I have noticed the following:

- The frame rate counter in the ctrl-i view doesn't seem to accurately reflect the drop in frame rate

- If I release the view key to return the view to the front, then immediately hit it again, the view panning will be smooth as silk. It is as though something is getting cached that is related specifically to panning the view. Either some calculation that has to happen to change the view angle, or perhaps something that comes into view. (I have mainly been testing with the 7 and 9 num keys, so the view angle doesn't really change a lot). I then have to wait 10-20 seconds before the same view movement will cause stuttering again.

- The same with the clipboard. The first time it is brought up it will cause the view to become jerky. But then immediately hiding and bringing it up again is smooth. After a short wait it will be jerky again.

- I have tried turning the graphics settings from the absolute highest to the absolute lowest, and although it has a huge impact on the general frame rate, it has no effect on the additional stuttering I get when panning the view around.

I hope this helps nail down the problem!

In other news, thank you HTC for this great update. The improvement in the graphics is fantastic!
