Hard to believe so many didnt..
« on: July 28, 2009, 11:53:42 PM »
How many didnt even try the beta. NOW its a problem. HTC was looking for feedback before they released it.

I think anyone who didnt try the Beta. Should not even try to complain and should wait for some fixes from HTC

BTW I would pay 29.95 for the new version. HTC great job.

This is true the BETA was for pre release testing and everyone had the chance to try it . I have a few very small items to adjust and I'll be fine , its great IMO and HTC is moving forward and I'm sure it will lead to more added things that make it great . Good job HTC  :salute

Guess what? I reported my problems. BTW I had even somewhat less in BETA than in new release. ;)
But if you want you can pay mine 14.95 too, so your wish is easy to fulfill  :P

Im a bit reminded of the huge terrain update 2 years ago. Many players suddenly could barely make out any groudn features, lacked depth perception and rammed hills.
When they started to point out the problems, another group of players got very vocal and told us we should stop complaining, there is no problem,it's all our fault, we are too dumb to adjust gamma, or even better: We should get a decent monitor. Bottom line "I don't see any bug so there can't be one"

HTC just released a new version that fixed our "imaginary" problems.  :lol

Moral: Not only complainers stomp their feet, ignore any reason and add drama...

I gave my 2 cents.  I thought the graphics looked worse and with a high end system received some stutters when sixing someone.

I haven't had any issues with the release, but when I posted my comments they didn't go over very well.

When I was in the beta, listening to folks many many people felt the upgrade wasn't worth it, or their systems couldn't handle it.  But for some reason they feared posted in the forums probably because they didn't want to get jumped all over.

Personally I think they should have had a private feedback form that would have been sorted through a database with report tools to create a 'poll' like system as to what their issues were and how they felt about the grafx update.  I could have easily even written it for them using free tools and even hosted the database and inquiring/query tools.

Oh well.

To be totally honest I was gone doing RL stuff on the east coast while the beta stuff was going on.  I just signed back up five days ago, and heard the new version was coming in a few days so I didn't bother.  But there were some complaints in the beta test forum..

I guess not a lot of low end systems tested the beta though and reported on the nintendo graphics.  Maybe the fear of what was to come scared them from even wanting to dload the beta, idk.

Anyone who has been here for more then a couple versions of the game knows that there will in all likely hood be patches released. Often within the first week there are several.
Im just stating my opinion and not trying ot put words into HTCs mouths. By my own experiences tell me there will probably be a patch or two addressing certain issues. Particularly if they are widespread ones.

Advice to all. Just report your issues in the appropriate forum and be patient.

If you guys provide as much information as possible (Dxdiag reports, screenshots etc...) along with the issues you're having, I'm sure that they won't go unnoticed. The first release (even after a beta test) usually is never perfect and requires multiple patches to get everything right. There might be a compromise in the works - ie. Old style terrain for those with lower end GPUs. I hope everyone finds their happy medium in the end.  :salute

Yep, the last major update looked awful.  No shadows or depth.  You couldn't tell at all how close you were to the ground or see hills in front of you.  All was fixed within a couple of weeks.

I expect we'll go thorough similar growing pains this time.

Fortunatley for my part the new version is looking and working fine this time but I've also upgraded my machine between then and now.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

That would be my hope.  I logged on for a minute and immediately heard at least two people saying they were canceling their accounts.  Obviously giving HTC time to address the problems and issues is the fair thing to do.  I'm actually relatively confident they will try to improve the graphics look of those who can't use the 'advanced terrain' setting.

Easy to say when you are sitting pretty running the new version.  Seriously, some people's smug, elitist true colors have shown through in the last 3 hours.

In my opinion, anyone who threatens to quit after 1 day of a new release won't be missed if they actually follow through.  To me, that shows more about their true being than what we could learn from ch200 banter.

DON'T expect the new version to be patched to the point of being fully compatible with all the older and sub-standard equipment out there.  DO expect it to be patched to the point where most everyone who sticks around to be happy enough with it.
