Problems with warping planes
« on: July 29, 2009, 09:06:42 AM »
Hey guys, i dnt know whether it was just me, or if others are having similar issues

I had my new rig yesterday and started off playing on the old 2.13 AH, it was great, frames rates in the 60's and 70's on full settings, my old rig would only get FR of about 15 max

Anyway i then downloaded the new 2.14 version and my frame rates are still nice and high but im now having an issue of quite a few planes around me warping

On the old rig i used wireless, never had a problem
On the new rig with the old version i again had no problem
But now i have the new version all the planes are warping

At first i thought maybe it was the wireless, so i plugged it into the hub, still having the problems

Any ideas on what could be causing this???

Details on the new laptop:

Acer ASpire 6920G
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium
Intel Core 2 Duo T5900 (2.2GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 3Mb L2 Cache)
RAM: 3 Gb DDR2
Hard Drive: 250 Gb SATA
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS

Any help would be appreciated as right now the game is unplayable, one minute i got a plane in my sights, the next he is 200 feet above me, its a nightmare :(

Right-click the clipboard map and click on Net Status. Let that run for about 5 minutes then take a screen-shot of the data. Either you have too many background processes or a bad connection to the server.

The spikes aren't too bad. Could I get you to run pingplotter to the following address?

206.16.60.39

It will help us determine if this is an Internet issue.

Pingplotter is a small program that tracks the data from your machine through the internet and back.

Run the trace for 10 minutes. Afterward go to Edit>Copy as Text/Image. If you copy as text, simply paste the text into a response here. If you copy as an image you will have to paste the image into a program such as Paint, upload it to a website such as ImageShack, and then paste the direct link to the image within

Hop 6 is your trouble-maker. 100% packet loss. I'll run a ping-plot to your address now to see how the return trip looks.

Well, that route shows plenty of trouble. Packet loss inside and outside of your network is never a good sign, especially when there's so much of it. Here's what it looks like pinging your computer from just south of the HTC servers from within the AT&T network.

As you can see, the pings never reached their destination. If the tracert from HTC looks similar it's no wonder why everything is warping.

Download these two FREE programs also. It's helped everyone that has tried it. Look for Advanced system care and game booster
Run them both then try the arena again. If it helped, come back here and post.  I'm interested to find out if it can help you too.

Squadie of mine had same probs as you.

Edit: Don't forget to run the mem cleaner utility in the Advanced System Care program before entering the arena
