Natedog: Lancaster... it looks great

but I found three things slightly off.

1. those 2 forward side windows on each side of the pilots greenhouse:
the bottom edge should be parallel with the edge of the black paint instead of sloping down towards the front of the airplane.

2. the top turret looks a tiny bit to large in comparison to the rest of the aircraft.

3. the camoflage on the top of the fuselage on most lancs seems that the nose was tan instead of green as in pics below.

other than that its flawless.

Ya beat me to it Citabria.  About the top turret anyway.  It looked a bit large to me as well.  I was less sure about the cockpit frame merging with the fuselage.  I was going to see if I could track down more info on these today.

upon further inspection, we have found that the line drawing I had was a bit off. I have found a better line drawing and will be rechecking and fixing any problems with the model. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

[Sg]ShotGun,
Ju88 can dive bomb and drop torpedoes.  Later versions will be cannon equipped bomber killers.  It is also a REQUIRED aircraft for most Luftwaffe senarios.

Hi

Please see these links of pictures of the new colour scheme of the 'Battle of Britain Memorial Flight' Lancaster.  I would include the pictures here but they're copywrited, but there's nothing to stop you looking at them and comparing the colours!

That Lancaster sure is a mean look'n devil of an aircraft.  Almost as mean looking as the B-25H-5 from the business end.

[Sg]ShotGun,
HTC is working on ships.  It looks like they'll be here in 1.05.

HTC why don't you give us a HE177???.it would
be a good (AND FIRST!!!!) AXIS bomber with
good payload and defense abilities. not like
a ju88 a4 (mid '41!!!) with nearly same pay-
load like a jug!.
why got allied 3rd late-war buff (lancester)
and no early-mid one like axis??
because no one would fly BLENHEIM when there
is a b26 and b17 aviable. same would happen
to the ju88, pure SEA buff.

The B-17, B-26, and Lancaster are late war bombers? Oh yeah, I remember now. The U.S. B-18s were getting severely mauled throughout the war until the closing days when those bombers were introduced, but really too late to make a difference.

The P-47 has nearly the same bomb load as a Ju 88? Hmm, I need to fix the P-47 then because the last I checked, it didn't come close to carrying 28 x 50kg + 4 x 250kg bombs. Oh well, just like me to screw over the 47 like that.

With the Ju 88, we get a good and ubiquitous plane that can be converted to many uses. We get a maneuverable bomber, a dive bomber, a torpedo bomber, and maybe even a Zerstorer. The last two are helpful because it gives us something to get by on while those things are developed in ernest. And yes, it is important for special events. As for the 177, we will do it in time, but it doesn't hold a candle to the 88 in terms of what it brings to the game. Sorry that you think the 88 is a poor bomber, we disagree on that.

Tell me, which version of the 177 you would like to see and why you think it's better than a Ju 88A-4.

That's Pyro's response to what the Ju88 can do that the P-47 cannot.

Wow Karnak, I hadn't seen that post.  I couldn't agree more with Pyro.  He 177 was a heap of toejam in real life.  To model it before the Ju 88, Queen of the Luftwaffe, would be a shame.

I like the Lancaster skin because it's not 'dark', the two tone camo is standing out compared to some others AH planes.

"That's Pyro's response to what the Ju88 can do that the P-47 cannot."

If that is all that you got out of what Pyro wrote then why he should waste more words  with you in the future is beyond me.  Just my opinion of course.

(for the record I would like the HE-177 or ME-264 personally. But this is thier sim and they haven't been farking up with the decisions on what to model, what to build or what feature to implement to date.)

wow...2400kg of bombs!!! all at once???......im i the only person yawning here??? ur gonna tell me that this plane is gonna carry more than the 26 and almost as much as the 17 and still outperform the fighters..oh please..i can hear the complaints now...

i mean...is this plane gonna climb faster than a 26 or 17?  is it gonna fly faster loaded? since the 26 with 4000lbs load can get up near 300, does that mean the 88 is gonna do 350+??

whats it gonna have for defense..a 7.7 and a 13mm rear facing guns?

how many pilots regularly take 100lbs in their buffs??

Westy,
I take it you were talking to me.

Would you care to explain your insulting remark to me?  I don't know what you're talking about.

Pyro was not responding to one of my posts when he said that.  I have never maintained that the P-47 can do everything the Ju88 can.  I was simply using Pyro's response to one Ju88 whiner, HABICHT, to answer the whine of another, [Sg]ShotGun.

My hand is injured and has been for most of the week.  I can't fly and it hurts to type so I've been trying to keep my responses brief.
