New Arena
« on: July 30, 2009, 12:17:20 AM »
HTC should make another Arena. Just name it another color for later War. They should make another arena with the old Version of AH. For people that cant enjoy the new version. Just so people have a choice on what version they want to play on. Alot of AH players computer's are not that good for the new version.

Mines a pretty low end deal.  But once i updated my video card and what not, it works pretty well.  Only downside is i dont get to see the pretty water and the pretty ground, but thats not why i play aces high.  I play for the fights and what not.  It can look like the old sega geniuses as far as i care, so long as i get to fly and fight with friends!

Not a techi by any means, but I would think they would have to have 2 completely different games for the old version and new version to be separate. Which would more than likely never happen.

As far as people not being able to run it the new version.. it will be addressed in time. It's been what, 36 hours? Give them time, let them see what they can do. But in all reality, they won't stop moving forward with the game/company because people won't/can't upgrade their systems. People can say they will quit all they want, but sadly, there are more and more people joining every day.

I'm one of the fortunate ones, and I can run the new version just fine. But I do understand the frustration, when AH2 came out, I had to go buy a whole new computer to run it because mine was so out dated.

Just give'em time to see what's going to happen. :)

Its been over a month since it came out. When I first played it I for one had to drop a lot of eyecandy to play, but it was improved greatly since then. Maybe they'll make a patch or two that will make things run smoother, but now that its out of beta I doubt they'll make any big changes.

I've actually heard people say that they ran beta fine, but something between the beta and it going live changed, and the game runs crappy compared to the beta.

This is a truth, for me anyway.  I was optimistic my last spin through beta getting around 50 with graphics cranked (including AA).  I haven't changed one setting and now I'm at 22 fps.  If nothing changed on my end, something had to have changed on theirs.  Or maybe it's just that there's more people on and they are actually playing the game right and blowing stuff, creating FX etc.  instead of having 1v1 Brewster fights over TT all day.

Its been over a month since it came out.

Beta doesn't count...that's why it's called "Beta".  The production version only came out this past Tuesday.

Sorry but the beta and the version we have now are exactly the same game except one is called 'beta' and one is not.

High five! Someone else in my shoes! Those people complaining about their framerates being in the sixties, HAH! Mine never even pass sixty.

If you have V-synch enabled in the game or in your video card's settings it never will. V-synch keeps your in-game framerates in synch with your monitor's referesh rate. The only way to see framerates above 60 is to either get a monitor with a higher refresh rate, or disable V-synch. However you don't want to leave V-synch off except for framerate tests (causes weird reactions when the screen tries to refresh otherwise).
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

I would vote for a new MA arena that does not include scores. I'm certain this would would be a welcome addition.
