Why are people so intolerant of newbs?

They keep the player-pool fresh. Without them the game would just be a misery of runstangs, run90s, altmonkey 109s and 38s, and furballers in their turning planes lamenting the runners and altmonkeys. Ch200 would be nothing but an endless whine of how "my way is the right way to play the game and you're all dweebs".

Yes newbs are annoying. We all were little puppies annoying the crap out of the old guys once. But I think that in the game ragging is fine, but in here where there is a good chance of getting help, we should be supportive, and actually help them instead of yelling "USE THE SEARCH" at them. By that I mean we should tell them how to use it, give them tips, and educate them about forum etiquette and culture.

What you, obviously, fail to understand is that after 20 years of dealing with effort challenged noobs......some folks just don't care. People that put no effort into learning something about things before they log in get what they deserve. BTW, most of the instances of the "kids with burning stoves" are not the same kid....it's a new lazy weener almost ever time. Personally, if the "hammer" thing doesn't work....I say GET A BIGGER HAMMER !!

What is irksome is seeing others, that are only a step beyond those that are getting pounded themselves, take such relish in piling on. It's kind of like the 5th guy into a fight ragging on the guy that died.

I like noobs & squeakers. Used to be one or the other myself.

And I've got a whole bunch of sqeakers in my house.   Don't be too hard on them

1st of all... I am pro-B29. (Nuff said)

But if you don't even begin to know how to play, much less get 24's up with 50% from a base that has a 30 degree incline at the end of the runway.......  Why would you come on here and ask for the 29 anyways? 

I think that says it all. 

I also thought you were talking about why the Newb's are treated poorly in game.  For that I'd defend them.  But here on the forums......  Newbs should be reading more and talking less.  No offense New People.

Learn the game, read a few threads, perhaps then you wont be so fast to publish a clearly "flame-able" request or comment.

some my know me some may not, but i was a newb not but 6yrs ago, never played ah1 or AW, i was racin online nascar during that time. then i saw the commercial for AH2 on the military channel an fell in luv, signed up for my 2weeks, didnt have a clue on what to do. but i kept joining Genrl's RTC squad missions. still in my 1st week, genrl took me aside an asked me to join his squad i said yes an my very 1st sortie as a member of the RTC i ran a goon, dropped my troops from 15k town untouched doin over 200 an killed em all. then genrl gato, swatch, Hand, Bam an afew other started workin w/ me. now im the co of the Bomberwing of the oldest squad in ww2 sim games(the Chawks formed in 1990) now i do work for senerio's run fso's for our squad and just this past jan. i sank over 200 carriers in 1 month. i have help alot of ppl that have played longer than i an i luv being able to share the things ive learned w/ others. the point of my ramblin is, dont treat a person thats new like dirt, cuz you never know they may become the next great pilot in ur squad. i have no problem showing anyone anything ive learned, newb or not, cuz we were all new at 1 time. and ppl that give new players a hard time, well thats just not cool an very unsportsman like imo. so if some1 asks for help give asec to help a feller out, some1 did for u at 1 time or nother. if u dont wanna atleast dont be mean to em as it will turn em off to the game really quick.

I feel sorry for newbs, they have to learn the game while knowing that help is just that-a four letter word.
Last night I decided to download the new version and try it out. I logged in and jumped in a crate. My frame rate was hovering near the Forty-five mark, so I went on CH 200 and asked if there was a way to improve frame rates.
Here's the four responses I got back, Ingame handles will not be published:
1- "Alt F4"
2- "Press enter three times"
3-"Press enter then alt-f4"
4-"Turn off detailed mapping"
I was dissapointed to read those responses. These answers lead to follow up "Lol's" from all and sundry and of course- mutual back slapping. The reposnes numbered 1-3 were from long time players and that was dissapointing. I concluded that asking a question ch200 is not viable and from now on I'll post a question on my squad's bbs or on the AH help and training section.I thought this game was better than that, I know it can be as there are enough responsible players judging by reading a lot of posts on here.

i see people come in mw, and ask the same kinds of questions.....and if i recall, akak was trying to help someone improve their framrate last week. a couple others were too.

 in mw, i see most things answered properly....nothing like you're posting.....well.......from the majority anyway. there is a few that've revently started coming in that do that.
