Has the amount of ords needed changed for cv's

Anybody knows if the total amoutn of ords have changed to sink a cv? I've had a few 100% hits with B17's and B24's straight in the middle of cv without taking it down. It was 3x1000lbs?? :huh  Tks

It had to have changed. I noticed the same thing. I had a direct hit with 3 500KG bombs from an ar234 after the cv was already on fire, a squadie then dropped on the cv in b24s. He said he had mostly direct hit with the 1000lb bombs. He went back in another set of b24s and same thing. Boat still afloat.  :uhoh :huh

And always take into account that CVs constantly repair themselves. If the total of 8k is spread out too much over time, it may not be enough

hhmm....didn't know that.


i wish they'd have increased the amount it takes to kill one though.........it would help the fights last longer between a cv and a base, before someone comes and spoils the fun.  :D

I know that is what it's still saying on the help page but I have dropped 3x1000lbs per bomber so that's 9000lbs straight on the deck beside tower and it did not sink it. I was wondering if the hits I saw were maybe wrong and I missed because I did not see any splash in the water beside the cv. I used to sink them regularly with that but now they seem stronger.  :rolleyes:

I think the repair time is 15 min. Meaning you have to drop the 8000 lbs inside 15 min on the first attack. Once the CV is hit the clock starts. If no further hits are made the CV should be 100% repaired after 15 min from the last hit.

my guess the CV takes an hour like the other ships (ie. a CV so damaged that it only needs a few .50 to kill will take an hour to repair fully). so it repairs at 8000lb/hour, or 2000lb every 15mins.

had someone drove one close in to the shore last week. i think i was hitting it at the2.8 or 3.0 mark on my panzers sight.

 i hit the radar. it stopped smoking after about 10 minutes, although it did remain on fire.

Which is how hangers and "stuff on fire" act.  Once they stop smoking, they pop within 5 minutes.  So, repaired after 15 minutes sounds about right.

That's true for hangars, which stay down for 15 all the time, but not for other stuff.
For example ords and such will always stop to smoke after 10 minutes, but may still stay down for up to 110 additional minutes.
