Yeah I'd like to know too!  I previously ran and AMD FX-55 system for a couple of years and later upgraded to the AMD 9850 quad core black box edition and I've never had any of the problems that others have complained about.  I do NOT have the spinning clipboard or stuttering issues and I've ran the beta from it's inception until the release of the current version.  I do NOT run in compatibility mode either.
System Specs:

ASUS M3A32-MVP Deluxe motherboard
AMD 9850 Quad core Black Box Edition processor
4-Gigs of DDR2 800 mhs Ram
2 ATI Sapphire 3870 512mb vid cards in crossfire mode
2 Western Digital SATA Raptor hard drives
Creative Sound Blaster X-fi Audio PCI-E sound card
Bigfoot Killer K-1 network card
Winblows XP Pro 32-bit operating system
ATI Tray Tools-Only install ATI drivers and no Catalyst Control Panel
Acer P243w LCD 24" widescreen monitor in DVI connection mode
19 processes running at startup

I haven't been complaining as I've not much to complain about and believe me... I just love to complain! :lol

All the Best...

The game is natively multi-threaded, so if two cores are available, they will both be used.  AMD dual-core CPU's are the only exception as there is a bug we happen to hit in those CPU's so the usually have to switch the game to run in compatibility mode, which basically restricts the game to one core.

I brought up the same argument Lyric..  the 1 month beta test phase saw virtually no participation.. at times I was the only one in the arena,  so nobody bothered to try their gear out and see ho things worked, or didnt work, and post their specs and such,  Hell, Skuzzy was even in the arena, taking questions and helping out.. all 5 of us.

I have an AMD Phenom X4 9600 processor and an ATI 4870 card. Might want to hold onto to your cash!

Many of the issues people are having now, including the every-2-second freeze that was causing me so much grief, didn't occur in the beta, and the beta wasn't really playable by people with lower-end systems. I tried it once and my system just couldn't handle it, I had frame rates in the single digits, so I decided to wait for the live release which was supposed to work better on older setups. I suspect a lot of the people having problems now did the same thing.

I'm fairly certain the AMD Bug is only relevant to the AMD Athlon 64 X2 Series... Don't quote me on that though.

Crash, try this. On your start up screen, if you have the 2 second lock up there, go to video settings and press ok. Don't change anything just press ok. When back at start up screen mouse should move normal and lockups should be gone. Its worked for several of us. Good luck

I saw that in another thread and it has been working for me, which is why I haven't posted anything more about it in Bugs or Tech Support forums. But thanks for offering the info!  :)
