HTC did nothing about certain individuals in the AvA. I wondered why.
After a bunch of PM's from folks who had been very active in the AvA but had come to the conclusion it was hopeless I decided to run a little test of my own.
The results were predictable. I sent films to Skuzzy(as he requested when I mentioned there were folks making the AvA unpleasant). The 'bad apples' were breaking no rules as per Skuzzy. It was only 'taunting'. When a squad mate replied to the 'taunting' with 'You people are acting like children' Skuzzy said that was over the line. So I posted some stuff along the same line as the 'taunting'. I hated having to stoop to the level of the immature but it was the only way to prove the issue to myself. Those posts were deleted and the threads closed.
The only conclusion left was that HTC wants arenas that do not conform to the 'complete freedom of choice' that is the core of the HTC business model to be unpleasant places to play. This gives HTC the ability to honestly say there are alternatives to late war main gameplay yet keeps folks concentrated in the money making LW Mains at the same time.
It is a good business plan long term because the future is in the 14 to 24 years olds, not the rapidly aging history fans like myself.
I decided the only real protest available was to delete my account.
I expect this will likely be my last post here as well once Skuzzy finds it.
It is a shame but the future of Aces High is firmly in the hands of the childish and immature players that make up the vast bulk of all gaming. HTC cannot afford to alienate them in large numbers to appease those who wish something a little less like an episode of Jerry Springer meets the WWF.
