Lots of stuff
I dunno, I rather think of the F4U as the wussy, preening American ride actually.  You more described the P-47.

I have no problem waxing Brewsters and other rides that just can't get'er done.

In late war tour 114 Boxman has killed 3 Brewsters and has been killed 14 times by them.

In late war tour 115 Boxman has killed 3 Brewsters and has been killed 7 times by them.

Well, to me it looks like you've had your share of problems waxing Brewsters. :) But yes, obviously you've obviously had less trouble with them at tour 115 than at tour 114.

Nah, he was describing the F4U. Besides, the P-47 has its own urine tube. Hogs and Hog pilots don't need 'em.

It's one thing to like the Spit16 for its overall easy-mode characteristics. It's quite another to stick with it as your only ride of choice with no desire for challenging yourself in a LESS-than-uber aircraft.

Well what if he does decide to challenge himself to become really good in a Spit 16, like others are good in a 109K-4?  Does that 'redeem' him, or is he still 'bad' for not picking a worse plane?
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?
Apparently I'm in the 20th FG 'Loco Busters', or so the legend goes.

"the novelty should wear off after one night."  If the preceding happens..your Libido needs serious attention.  :P

There are 2 types of players in this  GAME ,those that like the "Spits" and those that secretly admire them but are afraid of the "ribbing" they'll get from their peers if they admit it :D

I prefer the spit V, and/or the IX.

Oh Den i love spitfires! I just dont like the spit 16  :)

Do you want to fly a plane that'll give you a full chest of hair after one flight?

I don't need a plane to enhance or affirm my manhood. I do, however, require a pretty one to make up for my ugly mug, and the Spit is just the ticket.

I do love the hogs, but damn, if there's a fighter in which it's easier to kill yourself than any of the F4U-1 series, I haven't found it. She flies like a dream but will not tolerate the slightest transgression, at least down low. I've gotten better at not committing those transgressions but I still have no clue how to survive one.

(Not to mention, if HTC hadn't made taxiing unrealistically easy - not that I'm complaining - our hogs would have similar stats to the war: more planes lost in noncombat accidents than to any form of enemy action.

Well, it's called Late War for a reason.

I have no problem waxing Brewsters and other rides that just can't get'er done.

The Brwesters and what not seemed good at first but now they should stay in MW.

Hmmm....

A well flown Brewster is a awesome thing to behold. Co-E, Co-Alt, the Spit 16 needs to extend... A long way.

I'm not that familiar with the Brewster, I've flown it twice and seen less than a dozen, but wouldn't the XVI pull away very quickly in a climb?

I really don't understand how the Finns did so well with the Brewster, unless it was purely a matter of enormous disparity in pilot skill. Sure, it's maneuvarable, but so is a Fokker D. 7 and I wouldn't take that up against a Spit either!

Luckily, even though the UK declared war on Finland at the end of 1941.

And then what?
You fail and put m00t deep in a hole with that comment! :rofl :rofl :rofl

m00t would get his 190A8 pwnt by a half competent player in an XVI.
Could be worse.  He could've put me in a Typhoon.   Seriously - I never fly the A8.  It's a brick and I personally don't like its flight envelope. It must've been a great ride in WWII, but in AH's MA it's a fish out of water. All the Fw190 really needs is a single 108 or 103 in the nose with ~80-100 rounds, and non-split flaps that deploy over 200mph.  Imagine that.  Slotted or fowler flaps on a 190A5, D9, or 152.  15 years from now I'll grab some off the shelf open source flight sim and make that plane and fly it against the rest of the historical 44-45 WWII plane set.  It's gonna be fun.

To answer the question though.  I'd rather "die" to a challenge like 1xA8 vs 3xXVI than lame my way to such a "win" in a XVI.
No victory without peril.
