Not even close.

Well, he's showing some improvement.  I think we'll need a legitimate English teacher to get him over the hump, though.

Nice effort though, Stealth :aok

I believe I speak for millions  ;)  of AH subscribers everywhere that the He111 is more deserving of AH design resources than the Do217.  The He111 was produced in far greater numbers and was the backbone of the Lw bomber force throughout the war.  But alas... all of us knew that, well... most of us.   :)

Not for me.

The Do 217 was a very important bomber from 1941-1944, when the He 111 was already being relegated to second line duties, especially at the Western front, where the 217 continued to fly night and day sorties vs. England, along with the Ju 88 and 188.
Until the He 177 showed up, it was the heaviest of all German bombers.

We already have one vulnerable German early war Bomber. While scenarios are a very important part of Aces High, 95% of all sorties are still flown in the main arenas. If I want to fly German iron only,it would make sense to FIRST add a bomber that's more competitive with other (allied) models than adding another one that's even slower than the Ju 88
Like the B-25, introduce 2 variants of the Do 217 and you have covered EW, MW & LW.

The 217 would close a far bigger gap in the planesets for all purposes.

Wrong, the Ju-88 was not a dive-bomber. It was a level bomber with dive brakes attached to the wings in order to satisfy the higher-ups who felt that dive-bombing was a better strategy than level-bombing.

No, the Ju 88 was a dive bomber as well as a level bomber.
In fact, the Ju 88 was also used as a fighter-bomber and a night fighter...

I do believe the same was said about the I-16 and the Brewster.....
