It would be nice
« on: August 15, 2009, 04:33:29 PM »
It would be nice if the wake behind the PT, LVT and Task groups spread out and dissipated like they do behind a real boat instead of the perfectly striaght line wake we have now.

I'm also curious why the proximity fused 5" gun shells work against PT boats but not against aircraft below 3000'.  It would seem to me like if they don't work below 3000' then they shouldn't work below 3000'.  Make the 5" gunners use the HE rounds instead of puffy ack to kill PT's.

Also, why can't a PT land successfully anywhere on the map as long as there's no enemy's within the magic distance?  Every other GV can... why not PT's?

Just a couple thoughts as I've been PT boating today.

um... Since when?  I've been 5"ing buffs and stuff below 3000ft for years.

Auto puffy doesn't shoot below 3k.  Manned puffy is 'smarter' than that.

Five inch works against planes flying at any altitude up until last patch. If it changed since then I am sure its an error, take film and send it in.

And still does. 5" proximity fuse works at all altitudes.

Maybe Bald meant auto puffy not working under 3000 ft.

That would be horrible. An end to almost all CV battles, considering how close CV's get to the coast.

I was thinking about the auto puffy not working below 3000' and of course I do know manned puffy does.  Not sure why I wasn't putting that together.

:salute 999.  If you're not careful I'll end up taking you up on that offer.  :)
