I did an "air assault" landing in a town the other day in a C47 with ten troops. While turning I accidentally broke my left wing-tip off. The rest of the plane was fine. Trying to find a place to hide, I tried driving the goon in between some buildings. There was plenty of clearance between the left edge of my wing (what was left) and a building, but if the wingtip had been there, it would have hit the building.
It hit the building anyway. The empty place where my wingtip had been still collided with the building. It flipped my plane around and broke the right wing off, and my troops wouldn't get out.
There should have been no collision between a part of my plane that was no longer there, and a building on the ground.
