Are you Hellcat lovers ready to cry?

Its a screenshot converted from a 3,5MByte .bmp to an 80Kbyte .jpg, so you can easily imagine how beautiful was the original pic. <EDIT> The Hellcat pilot was so kind to close the canopy after bailing out ...   <EDIT> Waiting for the Hellcat ....

Don't tell me that Hellcat was remotely flown, it has no pilot and canopy is still closed

Hmm.. it has quite many 20mm hits, if those are it by the n1k itself...  it still has its engine running and wings.. oh.. it has stabilizers too.
though, that big hole in the cockpit area looks nasty for the pilot.

I wonder how many planes fighters in AH has flown with such many N1K2 hits
Hispano AP round must be doing 10 times larger holes, if that isn't enough with 20mm yet...

Easy Fishu- the Hellcat pilot was merely ducking down in his cavernous cockpit!

BTW, I have CFS2, and it is a great offline game (with the Wells modifications to FM).

...and Fishu, let's try to keep one thread lighthearted, shall we?

As much fun as that game (Sim) is, I still think the carrier landings (after being somewhat shot-up) are the best feature. I can't wait for AH 1.05!

The only prob with CFS2 is the stoooopid wingmen `Engage my target'...`Can't comply', `I'm already engaged', `No can do'...and watch as you dogfight 6 Zekes in your Wildcat and your wingmen wallow around aimlessly.....then hit the rejoin key and let the zeke trying to get on your six get the `aimless AI wingmen'..hehe.

The Hellcat pilot may be down in the lounge area with one of the stewardesses.  I'm sure he'll be back in a bit.

In my opinion that is the best screen shot from CFS II I've seen yet. Fantastic detail!

That Zeke is clearly overmodeled, there's no way it could have survived that long against the UBER hellcat.

Great shot! Wish I could've stolen it, as I had all the trouble in the world getting screenshots from CFS2, and with a deadline hanging over my neck I'd have taken anything  . Unfortunately, or luckily perhaps, I already sent the review in. Started the computer one day, and it just worked, for no reason whatsoever. Oh well  .

Oh, and the absence of a pilot is easily explained. The mighty N1K 20mm hit the cockpit and totally disintegrated him  .

Fishu,
I took 10+ hits from a N1K2 while flying a Spitfire MkIX and only suffered a pilot wound and damage to my oil or radiator.  After the N1K2 went down the pilot said something to the effect of "That was one TOUGH Spit".

It is possible to take quite a few hits, but it doesn't hapen very often.

In CFS2 I would wager that they have generic skins for different damage levels.

I've met and I've flown often tough spits..
if you don't hit its stabilizer, it takes alot hits
wonders me though.. with cannons you can shoot about every plane as much as the another..  ive shot zeke (And that has hardly any armour) over 10 times with 20mm and still flew (and died to other guys, but i got credits)
p47 goes down like zeke and other way around    (funny eh?)

I'd really like to express my feelings and what I am expecting about it...
but well.. something tells me to shut up until I get to try it first.

With your well-known predisposition for anti-American thinking I am quite certain the Hellcat is in for an unbiased review...
