I swear dude your always full of bs dueling arena ain't updated to make em bounce off same with driving into tanks and killing em from inside no one gvs in DA that's why they don't update it now stop bsing u no that 50 cals wont do crap to panzer unless it hits treads. Before you post or talk bout something make sure you can do it in the MAIN ARENAS DUR NOT DA OR OFFLINE MA.And dont rob post go brag bout it some where other than the wishlist. Now any ways m18 needs to come to this game for anti - spawn campers. also squeakers are annoying

The DA does not require a seperate update when the game is updated.  If he could do it in the DA, he's going to be able to do it in the main arena as well.  And yes, I agree you squeakers are very annoying.

I've never seen a real kill by 50cal since the DM revision way back when (years ago), and nothing but (countless) ditch-proxies when you effectively TKO someone's sortie by disabling their turret or engine.

edit - disregard above.. Sandwich do you have film of that sortie?

Unfourtunately no, i didnt save the film from my sortie.

I remember doing this once myself.  It was one of those nights when just a few people playing in one of the MAs.  I killed an M3 near maproom with an M16 ...then heard tank spawn in so just for fun drove the M16 out to where the panzer was rolling.  I got behind it and pumped it full of .50 cal, figuring I was just being annoying but the panzer blew up.  It wasn't already damaged because it was the same guy that was driving the M3---he spawned back in with his tank to kill my M16.  Nobody else was defending the field so I know it wasn't tank fire and I was just stealing the kill with my .50s.  It took several seconds of continuous fire, but I don't remember how many rounds.

It's somewhere around 350 to kill one

nub

you do know you're just wrong right.

Its proven that an m16 can kill a tank.

Ive seen it happen, hell I've had it happen to me.
It is possible.

And yes I want the M18.

I would rather have the m36 though.

The rear armor of a pzkwIV(H) is only 20mm, so at close range the .50 could probably penetrate.  But whether that round would have enough power left to damage the engine behind, I'm not sure.  But I also don't know how HTC models their damage, so penetration may be sufficient to assume damage.

At 200 yards the .50 BMG is capable of penetrating 20mm of armor, at point blank range it should break through it no sweat.

From: The Tank Killers by Harry Yeide:

Quote
Buick had designed the M18 with much input from the Tank Destroyer Force.  The vehicle embodied the doctrine:  fast, light, and lethal.  At 40,000 pounds, the M18 was little more than half as heavy as the M10, and it could reach the remarkable speed of 50 miles per hour.  The tradeoff was the armor was thin--a mere half -inch on the hull front (less than the M8 armored car.  The Hellcat carried a 76mm gun (a lighter version of the 3-inch gun) in a full-traverse open-topped turret, and, like the M10, had no machine guns other than an antiaircraft .50-caliber mounted at the turret rear.

Buick, however, claimed it had designed the Hellcat as the answer to the Mark IV front armor--it was not.  Some, moreover, disliked the Hellcat's thin armor and thus preferred the M10.  One Battalion--the 813th--in early 1945 fought conversion from the M10 to the M18 so vigorously that it was moved to the M36 instead.  The battalion judged that "the M10 is a superior TD to the M18 in every particular."
