First off this is my first SATA only rig that I have put together. I spent what I thought was quite a bit of time reading, reading and asking questions but never asked about this possibility that has apparently turned into a reality for me and is now a problem.
First problem with new system that needs to be answered to help me once the next problem is fixed:
Everything works now that I have the cable issue figured out. BUT when I get into the Windows 7 installation screen I get an error that the CD/DVD drivers aren't there. BUT Windows loaded fine to get to that point it just will not proceed. Any ideas? DVD Drive in question is an LG GH22 DVD Burner, model number: GH22LS40 I may have to update the firmware by loading the drive into my existing computer and then remount it in the new one but if anyone can help that is the second step at the moment.
BIGGEST PROBLEM....Bootmgr missing when I try to get the Win7 disk to load now. The above problem is one that I am going to have to put on the back burner now. I have to figure out how to make this one work now. The drive that I have is a Seagate - 1TB Model: ST310005N1A1AS-RK. How this happened goes to the problem above. I was unable to find a driver anywhere (shouldn't need one right?) for the DVD drive. Well when I went all the way out of the installation screens I rebooted the computer and got a screen that said I had put in a new CPU....(WTF?!?! OVER!) Where did that come from? So I cheched and rechecked the seating of the HSF mount on the mother board and there was zero movement on that big arse CoolerMaster V8. Anyway I move into the BIOS and re-establish the settings like the computer forced me to do since I had put in a new CPU or so it said. Then I reboot and get all the way through and the last line AFTER posting good says..."Bootmgr is missing" Ctrl-Alt-Del to restart...I do that and I get it again, and again and again, etc... So like a good boy I go bang my head on the wall and say it AGAIN only this time out loud...WTF OVER!
So here I sit with my old system sitting where the new one was supposed to be humming along tonight wondering what the heck can I do to fix this problem. Anyone that can help me I would greatly appreciate it.
