BIG GUNS?   Sure why not!!!!
But I think these would be more likely in game, and more useful... At seaside bases, and ports...
14inch Disappearing Coastal Battery w 360deg traverse.. Range about 44,000yds.. Definately spice the game up a bit...
The gun animation, would be REALLY COOL too...

12inch Coastal mortar, Corrigidor PI...

15inch Singapore coastal Rifle, (same guns as HMS HOOD.)

I think this is FAILED!!!! First off, if you can only move it by rail then if you are playing on a map with islands then it is pointless. If you are not then it will move VVVEEERRRYYY SSSLLLOOOWWWLLLYYY ("very slowly" slowed down :x). Second, stand off weapons will not get that much use as it will take a long time to get to the front and then get bombed to hell and gone by a hoard of B-24's, Lancs, and B-17's.

Third:
You must mean something else, even today rail guns are only in design stages and are slated for 2025 (I think...) to be mounted on U.S. destroyers.
What is a rail gun.

Correct me if im wrong but it sends a projectile long range but instead of gunpowder they use magnets kinda like the bullet trains, watch the movie TransFormers 2 :t

Every truly massive gun ever built failed.

Yes WWI had a RR gun that shelled Paris from 20 + miles away.

But the Men, Material, and time required to make, and use one of these would have been better served, to make normal artillery pieces.

Would Saddam's big gun have reached 500 miles? Methinks not, if we hadn't figured out the scoop and stepped in and stopped it the Israeli's would have bombed it.

In theory, someday, it might be possible to get that kind of range by going into low earth orbit.
But its so much incredibly cheaper and easier to put up a Preditor or other UAV with a couple of Hellfires on it. (Wait till they get one they can hang Mavricks on, and watch the fireworks!)

This is a game, not real life, I would think that this kind of weapon could be used only as last ditch defense of HQ to attack enemy fields and also have a longer rebuild time, like 30 minutes? Maybe like one shot per five minutes? Idk, just sounded like a good idea to me, guess it wasn't, ty for your input guys <S>.

We pretty much all think that (probably). Israel may be small. But she's though.

The V3 would have hit London from the Pas de Calais:

It was bombed by 617 squadron using Tallboys.

A railgun is a purely electrical gun that accelerates a conductive projectile along a pair of metal rails using the same principles as the homopolar motor. Railguns use two sliding or rolling contacts that permit a large electric current to pass through the projectile. This current interacts with the strong magnetic fields generated by the rails and this accelerates the projectile.

The U.S. Navy has tested a railgun that accelerates a 3.2kg projectile to seven times the speed of sound.

Okay, this would be a cool thing to add to the game if nothing else than to demolish enemy towns from 500 miles away. Rail guns, the Germans used them against Soviets in the Middle of WWII. Perhaps these could be used like the ME-163 and only be used at certain bases, close to the HQ, same rules of the CVs would apply, highest pilot score would get control or the giant. Respond with what you think.

 :rock

The Germans used a Railway Gun called "Anzio Annie" in Italy against the Anglo-American beachhead at Anzio in 1943.

I have only heard of K5s and Gustav and Dora. Those 36 inch guns. But yeah Id like to see them at ports. MUCH better defence.
Six .50 cals is all you need.
But cannons are nice.

Better defense, yup!!!  The Japanese would have overrun the Bataan Peninsula many times over, if it wasn't for the umbrella of 14 inch rifles and 12 inch mortars on Corrigidor island and Ft Drum... The Japs bombed and shelled them countless times, but many were still operating when the Americans finally surrendered.. While they were still in American hands, NO Japanese ship went ANYWHERE NEAR Manila Bay...

The whole Japanese Malaya campaign was conducted, because the IJN didn't want ANY PART of those guns on Singapore island.. But in that case, the Brits didn't install them with 360deg traverse.. Bigtime error!!! If they HAD been able to use them in the overland defence, that story would have been COMPLETELY different!!!

Unlike the "Bizarro large" german Gustav type railroad guns, these coastal guns had a good rate of fire... And although they were vulnerable to air attack in open emplacements, they were very simple, robust, and easily repaired.. You could put them out of action for awhile, but it was quite difficult to completely destroy them!!!
