There is this early one, which isn't bad.

And then this one, which I think is for the air to ground rockets in the 190F8.

I'm not finding any of the others saved on my system.
Probably Baumer still has them.

Can you create your own gunsights with a program as simple as paint?

The one with the boxes has been listed as the A2G one.

The problem with a "gunsight" for WGr 21s is that it won't ever aim true in 99% of cases. Every thing from your pitch up/down, your airspeed when releasing, the target's orientation, angle, speed, etc, will ALL affect how and where the rockets fly.

From a dead level, even speed, if you match the target's speed and alt precisely with no deviation in your course, it will be about 1.4k to target. However, I've lobbed them at about every angle you can imagine. You dive on a target and your rockets will got further because they have your kinetic energy behind them. You climb up at a target and they won't go as far because they are starting from a slower speed.

I've had lancs flying past me, been way too low and out of position in a 190A, lobbed a rocket almost on-the-pipper for my gunsight, and saw the fluffy puffs and got the kills. Other times I've had to nose up so high I'm firing blind at targets well under my nose and still hit.

No gunsight you could draw on a bitmap would have helped me in either case.

I once read a thread on how to use the 110's (among other similar luftwaffle aircraft) gunsight mount as a sight. I doubt any of you have ever noticed, but at the bottom of the gunsight there is a little trapezoid-like shape. The thread showed how one can use that sight picture effectively with the Wgr21 rockets.

Unfortunately, I don't have a link and I don't remember how it was used  :(

Yes!

As long as you remember to stick to a few basics.

Size, save as .bmp, how many colors (256 vs 12 million)
The new "Irfanview" has a simple paint box that you can bring up.
Letting you create, draw lines, circles, etc. Not to mention the thousands of things it did before.
It also lets you input text into a selected zone.

These will be rather simple sights, ie can't adjust the "alpha" channel,  those take a more complicated program. Should be posts elsewhere on how.

But I've used paint and Irfanview for years to create, and edit gunsights.

Can you create your own gunsights with a program as simple as paint?

Take either of the 2 sights I posted above, right click on the image, choose "save as" from the drop down menu.

Save to your Aces High Install directory. Normally something like C:/Hitechcreations/AcesHigh II/sights folder.

Start up AH, see if the new sight is in the list.

Here is the sight for the WGr21 as Ghosth said.

Attack from dead astern, I prefer to start with a slight dive, then level out at the same altitude as the bombers. For me, this produced the most consistent attack with good results.

Wow that was amazing. I suppose I can't do the same with the 5" HVARs though, huh? :(

Pappy, if you look up a few posts you'll see a sight with the 2 boxes, another of Baumers sights.

I've used this with some success using the Mossie's rockets, some simple tests with angle and distance should allow you to use them with any rockets.

Simply go into the TA and load and test with the LCG,note angle of attack and distance, some help from a friend in a GV would be a great asset for this.
