Wolfenstein
« on: September 02, 2009, 06:58:11 PM »
Anybody playing it?

I just beat it and discovered the cheat menu becomes available after the game is finished the first time. I think they did a great job on this one! There is one of my favorite missions where you travel to the zeppelin and at one point you can man some quad mounted 20mm against what look like 109s but I never did shoot any of them down because the mission didnt seem to require it. In the game I found an Intel report that mentions invisible technology mounted to the Me-262 but I never saw that either. Its possible I missed a few areas by not following the mission paths properly.

The mission with the house of prostitution was interesting!  :aok

I take it you're not playing the 1992 version Wolfenstein 3D?

Thought the latest Wolfenstein was rather lack luster and enjoyed Return and Enemy Territory much more.  If you're thinking of getting it, wait a few months and snag it when you find it in the bargain bin.

No I have to say your way off base with that statement because this new version has got tons more work on every detail and every enemy has far more aggression and accuracy than Return ever did.

Actually, the AI in Wolfenstein is more heavily scripted than Return's AI and not as intuitive either.  Sure, the graphics looks slightly better (for a '09 game, Wolfenstein is definitely sporting '07 era graphics) and don't even try and compare the multiplayer with Enemy Territory.  The multiplayer portion is so craptastic that the company that made that portion of the game folded on the day Wolfenstein released.

Folded? You should check your facts they laid off some employees at the end of a huge project but that hardly qualifies as 'folded.' Now if you can tell us how else AI should be treated other than 'scripted' (which I think it has to be in a computer game) maybe I could understand how you might think the game is behind the times. I dont believe you have much experience with the game itself and your commenting on reviews you may or may not have read.

I've played the game, that's what I'm basing my opinion on.  Yes, the graphics aren't spectacular and are circa 2007.  As for the team at Endrant Studios, the entire team was let go the day the game released.  That's not a very good thing, and telling of the multiplayer portion of the game.  How do I know they were sacked?  Because a number of them have submitted their resumés to the gaming company I work for. lol

That was my question too as not only is their website seriously lame and lacking
critical info such as system specs -  which are horrendous.  They do have a patch
available and a stand alone client server avail but nothing about where to get the
game.

But if you use Google you can find that it's available at Walmart as well as through
"other means."

It was released on 8/18/09 for the PC and other platforms.
