Sometimes with the new graphics? When the sun is setting or rising over water? In the right plane? It does look beautiful. The graphics look great all the time, but sometimes they really just blow me away. :salute To all who wrote the code.

You know I crack up every time I see that ME-109 image I did.

I did that my last days at CAD Institute ..in DOS 3d Studio .. on a cutting edge 486 .. at 800x600 res
..and it nearly choked the poor machine just rendering that.
I mean .. it was over 5 *thousand* polygons!! .. Holy Cow!!

Nowadays the hi res models I have seen in demo's have over a *trillion* polys in them (!!)
. . yet I still have to wonder ..why have a polygon smaller than a pixel in the rendered image.
It's wasted.
Also goes for detailing a shape that will never be seen (ie: Jane's cockpits, backside of their throttle quadrants etc)
I actually took their cockpit for the P-51D .. built a much better looking one that was *thousands* of polys less for AW4 prototype
just because the details were where a player would see them, not backsides or out of view.

There was so much I did that never saw the light of day .. just a shame all the way around.
The AW4 Mustang was my best ever .. I was so caught out by the shutdown I never thought to burn off copies of my latest stuff before walking out.. grrr.

Good news is .. I can build better now.
