This entire situation was created by the election in 2008. Not a big deal, but many rushed around and bought as much as they possibly could in the anticipation that stricter legislation would pass affecting ammo. On a side note, since the event in 2008, more people have bought firearms that had never owned one before than in history.
Simple thing to remember now is that, this too shall pass.
I reload (still a noob), and shoot a lot. While I have a central supply level I do not go below a certain number. Reloading supplies are expensive right now, but if you are patient, there are still deals to be made.
As golfer mentioned, be observant of what you do buy. A good first look is at primer seating. Is it uniform and set properly? Take a look, it's a good way to prevent slamfire's and other nasty surprises.
