Why?  No one has provided any credible evidence as to why the Wirbelwind needs to be perked, just like no one has been able to provide credible proof as to why the Spitfire Mk XVI needs to be perked.

Well just looking at K/D  stats for the Wirble in the last three months...WW is king, by far.

Yes.

Because basically the Wirbel is getting his kills because his enemies choosing to die. Every plane can simply stay away from a Wirbelwind. Every tank, even an M8 can easily kill it.
Once a Wirbel is identified rolling to an enemy field, he is only getting his kills because fighters do insist on flying down his barrel. A single bomb will end his existance easily.
I'm all for an ENY adjustment (hordes with Wirbels rolling to town), but perking it is by no means necessary in any way.

Look, If you die by a GV while in a plane. Then you messed up. You got too close. As Lusche said. Take a bomb and get it over with. Stop with the  :cry :cry :cry and deal with it. You die, YOUR BAD.Dont fly as close next time.

Or do you like playing in rush hour highway traffic hoping you don't get smacked by a car?

Oh and it dies way more than anything else, Its K/D shows that

I actually supported this idea with the pre-turret change Wirbel.   I no longer do.  The Wirbel is much easier to take out of action than it was previously.

Wasn't a wirb. Was a Ostwind. WW 20mm shells max range is 1.5k where as the Ostwind's is 3.5k.

According the Germans it wasn't, at least against aircraft, otherwise they wouldn't have drawn up plans to swap the  2 cm Flakvierling 38 L/112.5 for the 3.7 cm FlaK 43 that was used in the Ostwind.

However, the 2 cm Flakvierling 38 L/112.5 was very effective against infantry and soft skinned vehicles.

It does not create an unbalance in the game play, the main criteria to perk an aircraft or ground vehicle.  Why doesn't it unbalance the game play?  Because anyone can:

  • Spawn a tank and kill the Wirbelwind
  • Spawn a bomber and bomb the Wirbelwind
  • Spawn a fighter or attack plane and bomb the Wirbelwind
  • Most fighters in the game can take out the turret in the Wirbelwind

All one needs to do is take out the turret in the Wirbelwind and you've rendered it completely useless, which is just as effective as destroying it.  No, definitely not a candidate to be perked.
