I'll post the image when I get home and can put the pic on my server.  I don't want to kill this guy's geocities account.

I like the GT40 too.. but I don't believe it was a Shelby built product.  I believe he just ran the team when it won LeMans.  I stopped by the GT40 web site.. but it didn't have too much history.

GT40 was made by Lola in the UK.  Ford supplied the engine and the money and the team.

Interesting that there are so many GT40 enthusiasts out there.  Although I rooted wholeheartedly for the Fords in the late sixties (my father was a Ford dealer, and I knew what side my bread was buttered on) for sheer good looks I always (secretly) loved the GT40's arch-rival, the Ferrari 330P4.  I think it's simply the most gorgeous car ever made.  A couple of links:

Anybody ever seen THX 1138?  Can you name the two cars used in the tunnel chase scene?

Very nice Cobra DejaVu. Thx for posting it. Very pretty car Bluefish. A true exotic. Here's a site for you GT40 fans.
 http://www.holmanmoody.com/gt40/gt40home.htm

The GT40 was started at Ford and was based originally on the Lola Mk6 GT. Ford started the project because he was pissed at Ferrari for not accepting a buy out offer. The project was originally headed by Ford factory people. Do to problems with Ford's inexperience in racing in 1964 the racing side of the project was turned over to Shelby American. The manufacturing as I understand was still in Ford's hands.

Maybe not the fastest car ever made

'68 Challenger RT Daytona with a custom Dvorak 440 dual quad straight tuned exhaust with whatever internal changes he makes to that $70,000 engine to attain a top speed of 256mph and not a quarter mile car.

Are there any left?

'46 Dodge Power Wagon. No contest.

Only thing that comes close is a '43 Dodge Power Wagon WC-3 with the Ford V8 conversion.

Hey it only goes 45 MPH, but what other truck comes with 35" tires stock?
And with the flat head V8, you can get 70 out of it.

Flat head sixs RULE!

Only trucks Dodge ever made that were worth anything   The new PW Concept truck sucks, I hope they never tarnish the Powerwagon image with that ugly thing.

DejaVu thanks for posting the Cobra. It's a cool.

BMF I've never heard of that version. Dvork must have been like Yanko was to GM and Shelby to Ford? It sounds like a truly bad bellybutton set up. You ever see the old hippy movie Vanishing Point. I think it's a 70' Hemi Challenger. It's a Heavy movie man. I've got a copy.     Also have American Graffiti and Two-lane Blacktop. I always loved the AAR's and the T/A's. Had a friend with a tri-power automatic AAR.

Dune those are sharp cars. My Uncle had a 67' GT 350 when I was a kid. It was a couple year's old when he got it. I can still remember getting into it and having to put on the three point harness. I remember the stock roll bar. I always felt like I was getting in a race car. They were pretty much a race car on the street.
My dad bought a new 1966 GTO, Tri-power, 4-speed, posi, with the Tiger package. I wish he had kept that. I love the louvered looking tail light on those. He said at 60mph on the highway if you stood on the throttle it would light up the rear tires. He said you had to be careful passing or you could loose it. They also bought a 64 1/2' Mustang when they 1st got married. It was a 6cyl. 3-speed coupe. Ragoon Red I think was the name of the color. Thats the car that turned me on to Stangs. "Mustang Sally now baby.." Wilson Pickett.

Jigster! I love the old Power Wagons. I hope to find a resorted military version with the wenches in a couple of years to play with.

If one of you wouldn't mind posting a picture of a 66'GT40 Mk II and a 63' Corvette Grand Sport I'd sure appreciate it. I haven't been able to post a picture on this. Operator error.

I went to a small private high school.  One of the girls used to drive one to school.  It was all original.  The paint was a little oxidized, but body was perfect and the engine sounded incredible.

I used to have a 1500 Bug  I had it until I got married.  One of my all time favorite rides.. until I got into 71 Chevy Blazers

I sort of fell in love with the Porsche 928 when it came out, I was about 8 years old at he time...

Last year I bought myself a 1990 928GT in forest green.

5l, 48valve, quad cam, V8.
330HP
317lb/ft

Nice, makes a nice noise too =)

There's also a 1973(I think) Corvette sat outside my house, but that's a friend of mines (It's currently broken and he hasn't moved it away yet).
