If it's your first ever terrain, I advise to start small.  Maybe a terrain with just a field or two, plus strats & such, just to make sure you know how it all works before jumping into a large project.  You don't want to spend hours & hours on a terrain & then be told you have to redo it.

when you place the field,it brings up a properties window,where you put the field # and mark it as group master,theres other things there,one of which is ID
in ID box
1=airfield
2=vehicle field
3=port
so all you need to do now is under objects in the select objects box,click on field,enter field # and zone,then look in the selection list and it will give you a list
for that field.
then double click the one for the field in question and the property box will pop up.
change ID to the right #
make sure your zone #s are right also in the same box
zone 1=bish
zone 2=knights
zone 3=rooks
this should get ya good to go :salute

Using the Objects tab, select the base by dragging over over it with the cursor. In the selection list, you'll see the base in the list, it should show as something like F0##GMS00# where the #'s are numbers and this is the base object. In the list, double click the base object to bring up the properties dialog. Change the Object Data from zero to 1 for a V-base or 2 for a port.

Carry on.  :salute

No. You can customize anything you want, just take a look at avasml.

However, your terrain must still be complete, with working strat, and pass all the internal error checks. If it's to be an historical based terrain, it may have to pass review by Dux and the terrain team. You'll find that process very demanding for accuracy.

Absolutely.

Edit:
I better add that the AvA staff and htc will also need to approve the terrain.
Plus, all your source files must be included, or it's automatically rejected.

ok what exactly do you mean by source files?
what i was thinking about was just using the steel planks for runways and tarmac.

this post shows the runway.it is just a bmp.
