Squad CO Channel
« on: October 06, 2009, 05:20:37 PM »
How nice it would be to have a Squad CO channel for each country, you could text across to all the Squad CO's in your country for any number of reasons, what do you guys think about this. I don't know if this was brought up before or not just trying to get feel for the consensus on it.

Sounds like it'd go the way of the Help channel to me. Especially since a lot of COs don't quite get along...

What makes Squad COs better than the rest of us?

Dunno, just strikes me as an "elitism" thing. There's nothing stopping you from contacting a few Squad COs and opening a #'d channel on your radio bar to converse with them.. Pick a #, any #. =)

No it has nothing to do with elitism and the CO's are better than anyone else but they do have a Squad under them, this mainly has to do cooperative operations between squads on each country, don't read things into this that are not there. I would also like to see this for the XO's too but what I understand AH has no separate abilities as far as giving authority other than Squad CO's.

You may not thing it does, but it does.

What I'm trying to figure out is, what does this system give you, that sending messages to other COs saying "meet me on channel 188" doesn't? Only answer I can think of is to exclude everyone else.

Why would I want mission planning or strategic operations between squads on a open channel, that's why. But if you happin to be involved with the operation but are not a CO you could fly one person that happins to be in a squad and you still would be getting information pertaining to what is needed or what your part would be in it. If that's not good enough; form a squad and then you will be a CO and have access to that text channel.
