Looks great, but one question, and this just may be the fact that its 5am EST and I just woke up.  Is that black or green?

[quote www.littlefriends.co.uk]
Introduction of the P-47M brought about a flamboyant change in unit paint schemes. The three squadrons all chose different schemes for their new mounts and these were applied to the top surfaces only. Undersides were left in bare metal, as were (usually) the wing and tailplane leading edges and canopy frames. 61st FS - red rudders, serials and letters with white outlines to the code letters. Topsides matt black. It is said that this finish took on a deep purplish/plum coloured tinge in sunlight but Lt. Russ Kyler disputes this. . 62nd FS - yellow rudders, codes and serial #s. Topside markings dark green and a lightish grey, possibly Sea Grey or Ocean Grey in various patterns, field applied so that no two were the same 63rd FS - topsides 2-tone blue, similar to Azure Blue and Dark Mediterranean Blue. Rudders and serials sky blue, code letters silver with (usually) thin black outlines. Note that some P-47Ms had fin fillets and wing pylons ex-factory; the early ones were retrospectively field-fitted.

Cactus, get some more light on the plane and then do some screen shots.  Make sure the sun is behind the camera--I think that will help with people discerning the shade of green.

Cactus, are you using Photoshop?   If so, do you know about the "Bright" plugin to create the .bmp file?    I see some dotted areas in the red of the cowl, and I think I've seen this before on non-Bright produced bmps.   I think Bright does a good job of smoothing these "in between" shades out without resorting to the mottled, dot effect.

I was asking Cactus if it was green or black.  To me in his pic it looks black.   But it could be t.o.d in game.

It's green. Looking at pictures it's a little difficult see the color. It's easier to see in game but I think I'll intensify the green if people are having difficulty see it.

Yeah I use use Photoshop but haven't heard of the Bright plugin before. I'll track it down and give it a shot.

Edit: Just tried the Bright Plugin. Very nice, quite a difference in the blotchy patches that I thought was a somewhat unavoidable problem with certain colors. Thanks for the tip.  :aok

I took a closer look at the real life picture you gave us. Im partially color blind, but from my point of view, it looks like the 56th used a very very dark green color. Also, you may want to lighten up the gray on your plane. It appears to be a little too dark. Dont take my word for heart though! Hehehehe.

Ok I adjusted the colors a hair, mainly adding a tad more green while trying to still keep it somewhat dark.

I'm confused, easy enough to do, and I am by no means a Jug expert, but doesn't our in-game "M" have a tail fillet?
In the picture of the RL "Teddy" it appears not to have one?

Not trying to stir anything, just curious.
