I suck in a 234 so... I like to fly through hordes in them.

I dont get any kills, they just follow me around and try to kill me, eventually someone does.

So you pretty much trawl with a 234?

Lol, I've trawled with a C-47. Lured the guys who attack up to escorting fighters waiting couple k away.

Was the AC-47 gunship around for WWII?  Would be sweet if it were... Hehe  :D  Gunning down towns from orbiting AC-47's... Hopefully we'll be able to have more than one gunner per plane some day.

As for the formations, I say YES to C-47 formations, but keep the number of troops needed to take the city the same...  The kicker:  Don't allow C-47's to release troops from the ground!  I think the land-then-roll-to-town-and-hop-out-of-the-C-47 thing is a bit... lame...

It'd be sweet to watch C-47 raids (like d-day) dropping hundreds of troops while ground and air forces try to eliminate them before they take the town.  Would really make the captures a lot more exciting than they are currently (for both sides).

Nope. Korea and Vietnam, IIRC.

HTC has stated in the past that it will always remain an X:1 ratio. You want the real troop carrying capacity of the C47? It'll take 27 troops to capture a field. You want a 3x10 formation? It'll take 30 troops to capture a field. All that does is ruin more capture attempts waiting on troops.

Ah bummer.  I really was hoping there would be a way to make airdrops necessary... :(

Didn't say anything about that. Though I don't see what's wrong with it. Guys can get out of the plane the same way they came in...

and if we increase the ammount of troops you can carry in one flight (be it through increased capacity or formations) then the number needed to take a base is increased by the same ammount.

Just seems silly to watch a C-47 land on a beach and taxi to the town.  I suppose there isn't anything "wrong" with it, but it kind of defies the point of paratroopers if you ask me.  If it were up to me, GV's would drop ground troops, C-47's would drop paratroopers.  Then again, I think the way captures work now are a bit boring, so I'm kind of "looking" for a different system.
