Why do you make this distinction?

- oldman

Granted, it is was probably unnecessary... but I suspect we're coming at this from different angles.

Racial slurs are inherently offensive because they are designed to denigrate their subject.

General cussing along the lines of "oh, 'sh**'" is not inherently offensive. You find the offence for yourself, the word is not designed to be offensive to its subject. It's just crass.

The former is very easily avoided.

The second, not so easy if you are watching the Phillies   :D

Taking offense is also easy to avoid.

You've done exactly what you "complain against".   "Fire first" that is, you've done just that many times.   But I guess different rules apply when you do this?

You're also good buddies with DrDeath, Valdals, Tripl5 and those who cuss blatantly on Green Text, Purple Text and Range Vox Channel.   Why are you "allowing one thing" and blatantly ignoring the other side of the coin which is far worse?

People who do that crap have no business playing multiplayer games.

I understand why people want the tunable VOX removed and if it goes, it goes.  I will miss it at times though as I have, on occasion, used it to chat with an opposing player about a particularly good fight.

Ohhh, no need to remove it.  Easy fix is when someone wants to tune to your vox by using your name, you get a message asking you to accept or reject the connection

indeed a vox system for PMs such as joining a player would solve a lot of the issues. And i say no to removing vox PMs for the very reason of a good fight, swap of info and players input is a good thing (someone also mentioned might make friends with people you wouldnt have normally talked to +1) but in the end run my squelch list gets started when entering an arena..be it low pop, high pop, or TT.. i know who go out of their way to pick a vox/text fight and squelch before they have a chance to ruin my day. and sadly i squelch more rooks then i do knits or bish.
