Raptor,

IIRC, torque effects are reduced across the board.

I do not recall the above being posted, although it may have..... but for the more prominent AC types that have more pronounced Torque effect, it is easily identifyable... The 109 series, FW190 series , F4U series, typhoon/tempest come to mind quickly.... maybe not all model types of these, but as Widewing has tested and concluded with results...backing off the Throttle when in slower turns (right handed &/or left handed ) will help one negate having to fly against the Torque(Twist) like one would if at FULL THROTTLE.....which will help one obtain a better turn rate ......

YMMV.......

the hardest part to flying Aces High for most, is having the obedience of sticking with one plane type and learning its every qurk through & through, then repeating that with the same plane against every other plane type in the game.........
"When one considers just what they should say to a new pilot who is logging in Aces High, the mind becomes confused in the complex maze of info it is necessary for the new player to know. All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC

This is my plane with the skin I use! Oh and did I mention I like to kill the rooks' P-38's with it? :D

You don't seem very successful in killing P-38s in your Spitfire.

F4u is faster than the P38. F4u flaps deploy before the P38's flaps. F4u is more maneuverable in aces high and is forgiving at low speeds (I feel the F4u doesn't have enough torque in AH but I have no evidence to prove otherwise, so I egress)

THIS is all true...although i've not fought many corsairs from co-alt...they're usually much higher.......but if they need to make multiple passes, they're bound to make a mistake.....and in a 38, there's generally no running away.  :bolt: :D

edit: I did not post "without a mistake from either side"........

I know that.  But your assertion that a mistake would decide the fight is immaterial when no mistake is necessary.  In other words, God could be piloting both aircraft, and there would be a conclusive result.

Why God would pilot a P-38 I have NO idea.

:D
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Even if the F4U4 makes a mistake, it out accelerates and has a higher top speed than the P38. Just saying

i understand.

if the 38 driver is good enough to get a couple hits on the corsair driver, 90% will make another mistake, hearing the hits, and 2 mistakes in a row is often doom.  :neener: :D

should also clarify....i am not one of those guys that can take advantage of others mistakes all that easily........yet.  :devil

f4u4 eats p38 for lunch.  If I was fighting myself f4u4 vs p38, I would kick my own bellybutton with the f4u4.  No debate.  This thread sucks.

Lol, +1

Maybe I should start a Spit16 vs 190A8 thread.

At least the 190A-8 can run away... if he's on the deck.

I think it's a good idea.  Those pesky Luftwhiners have been chomping at the bit for a showdown against the Dweebfire drivers to prove once and for all, which is the better of the two, the FW190A-8 or the Dweebfire Mk XVI.
