Bought a Saitek Cyborg X about a month ago...
« on: October 29, 2009, 07:04:19 PM »
and its already spiking.

Im thinking about moveing to the X52, if i have the money. Does it wear out easy, I had a Logitech before this one and it lasted 6 months.

Is the X52 a quality durable stick or does it wear out easy?

I don't know...I've had my X52 for around five years and have zero problems with it, but everyone else seems to have theirs wear out in 6 months or less....

If you aren't already, try an armrest under your forearm.. So the full weight of your arm isn't riding on the sticks pivot.. I doubled the lifespan of an X3Dpro to a year by doing that... And we all know how fast they wear out!!!

I think that is a safe bet with any stick,  As I said, if you haven't done that already...

my x52 is 2 years old and still going strong.  i tried kicking it so I could have an excuse to buy the ch stick, but that didnt help.  i guess I am stuck with it  :D.  just buy a self powered usb hub and dont use only the windows drivers. u should be ok.

I read some reviews for the X52 and most of them said that it would give out.

I have the Cyborg X, i was wondering if i could disassemble it and see if I could tinker with naything to stop it from spiking.

Don't use them so much  :D

My X52 is over a year old.  Only problem I have is it loses calibration.

I never fly without my elbow behind on my knee or an armrest. It really helps.

I use a G940 now, mounted between my knees... My forearm rests on my thigh, helps steady my aim bigtime!!!

It also keeps my arm from getting tired, and, like you said, it steadies everything

I have the X-52 mounted on the right hand side of my comp chair with the throttle quad on the left armrest. Looks funny as all hell but it has lasted 2 years and still going strong, no bubbles no troubles.

With all due respect, you haven't used it on a nightly basis for a while.    ;)

Sorry to hear about your Cyborg X. Do you have warrenty?

I brought an X-52 a couple years ago. Be warned, it has a hardware issue/design fault which creates a small dead zone when the stick is centered. This issue cannot be removed with software and I don't know if Saitek have fixed it.

save yourself the bother and get a CH stick.

Yes they are expensive.  But you don't need another one.

CH Fanboy alert... Bruv, don't you think if he had the money/will then the CH setup would be his first choice? It's worth every peny btw. Only gripe is that the 8 way hat, on the stick, is too high up the head to be any use to me so I use the 8 way on the throttle instead.
