self kill shot
« on: November 04, 2009, 10:37:35 PM »
I wish there was a self kill shot in the DA if you ho someone!Over the last year it has gotten so bad.
And another thing the darn base vulching, something Need's to be done on that issue.
Yes the DA is the swamp!!but it has gotten to be no fun for myself and many long time flyer's.
Can't nothing change for the better for the DA?Do a over haul on the DA.

I consider myself one of the best ho'ers in the game.  u come streight at me I will not turn and will open fire unless your in mossie or something similar.   but I go to da for 2 reasons, one is to get some experience in planes i dont normally fly and 2 to really learn to avoid the ho'ers.  as for field vulchers those are rare, but annoying.  nothing u can do about that.  I normally dont land kills and will stay even with no ammo, after all u dont need ammo to practice.  just enjoy it and dont let somebody else spoil your fun.  if u keep on getting frustrated just switch countries .

I wish kill shooter was turned off in the DA so you can shoot the guys down that fly through my stream

Agreed, Indeed we should have it on in the MAs as well. Part of the game.

The Dueling Arena is just the Main Arena with too few bases, essentially :P  And what you mention is a characteristic of the people who play the game - not something you can change by editing the game itself.  Anything you did to the game to fix this would have other effects which would most likely make the game overall less fun.

P.S. Your avatar disturbs me...
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?
Apparently I'm in the 20th FG 'Loco Busters', or so the legend goes.

If kill-shooter was off, the MA arena would devolve into chaos.

HOs are part of the dynamics of the game.  Learn to avoid or survive them.

Furball field vulching could probably be solved by upping the DA field ack effectiveness.  I fly in there about half my time and haven't had issues getting vulched there.

not so much getting vulched while taking off but the high cons waiting right at the edge of the base to bnz as u fly by low and slow.  I usually let them shoot me making them waste a few cannons so they can go away and pat themselves in the back on what great pilots they are  :rofl.  I have also seen new pilots try to take down the ack but that's another story.

And you have an even easier time if they fly slightly off head on course from you on the merge (then you get to call your HO a "FQ snapshot"), or if they fly so drastically off of directly towards you on the merge as to make HOing impossible, by which you gain a bite of angles right off the bat....that is the reality of HOing. If both people are willing to HO, then the whole game becomes a matter of one plane being destroyed and one plane being crippled on the merge. If one person is willing to HO and the other is not, then the person avoiding the HO takes the choice of flying the merge in such a way that there is a very real chance of being hit, or giving up alot of advantage. Only because willing to forgo HOing most of the time does fun and art exist in this game.

But I do agree there is no in-game technical solution to this paradox, and it would be folly to try to find one.
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."
