My dad just came in and told me about it. We still don't know if anyone we know was involved in any way. We're trying to talk to some of the folks we know up there to get a good handle on what is going on. <S> to all in Ft. Hood.

This is just awful.

This guy's a Major. And he's pissed that he has to go to Iraq... so he opens up on fellow soldiers? Some people just have a screw loose.

My thoughts go to the families. Its awful when a soldier goes to war and gets killed, but when something like this happens on our own soil its just disgusting.

My heart goes out to all the families and friends of the killed and wounded.

Fox is reporting the dead shooter was an officer.
About to deploy. Guess college didn't make him better than the enlisted folks.

Sick thing is they also say he was an Army psychologist specializing in psychological disorders and post deployment counseling. WTF??
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

I'm not bucking to get censored, but I think it's going to come out that this guy was a Muslim zealot rather than a crazy... maybe both.

Again, I'm not trying to get censored, but maybe the Army should allow their officers and NCOs to carry thier loaded side-arms on-base.  There's no way this guy could have killed so many trained soldiers if they'd had a chance to fight back.  They had to wait for armed civilian police to rescue them.

The shooter wasn't even a combat arms soldier.

Conflicting reports.  Fox, as of 8:36 pm central is reporting now that they have the shooter alive.  :confused:

He came under suspicion 6 months ago after stating that he was happy about a shooting we had in Little Rock.  It was at a Army recruiting center that left one private dead and another wounded.

Here's a link to the story.

Maybe he'll do the Danny Deever.

They are hangin' Danny Deever, you must mark 'im to 'is place,
For 'e shot a comrade sleepin' -- you must look 'im in the face;
Nine 'undred of 'is county an' the regiment's disgrace,
While they're hangin' Danny Deever in the mornin'.
