DA furball
« on: November 09, 2009, 03:15:21 PM »
I know there are many differing opinions on the furball lake in the DA, but one thing I think would somewhat equalize it would be to introduce a forced altitude cap of some kind.  Your tempest isn't as scary when it can't come in 10k higher than my 40 ENY plane.  It will at least force people to furball in the furball area.  I don't know if this is actually possible to code or not, but dense, zero visibility clouds anywhere above 10-12k that you can't see out of would probably suffice.  Just my thoughts. flame away.   :uhoh

Not a bad idea. I would have suggested a wind layer but that would interfere with the whole map.

It would be a great idea it would bring back the furball for what is was meant for, instead so many are starting 15k dive bomb attacks and run.
It get's old for the one's who truly want to mix it up as a furball! And it would clean up all the bad watermelon chat going on.

Included, of course, in the 14.95.....

I went to furball lake one day trying to sort out some La7 stuff for the scenario and the amount of people I caught getting to the top of their rope or simply zooming back up was rediculous. 2 or 3 people in high fast La7's cleans it up very well. If your in the DA and getting pee'd off, try it, its funny.
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

I am beginning to see the Lake for what it is... a huge chaotic furball with high and low cons.  A great place to train for the MA environment.  No need to cap it.  Go up to them and fight them at altitude.

DA furball lake is Aces High's equivalent of this:

A place for the little squeakers to have fun while the adults go shopping, err... play in MA or SEA  :D

Forget it Jake, it's DA Lake.
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

Of course you all know me as a DA regular but thats about to change slightly (although I'm one of the few that does 1on1s).

But on topic there was another discussion on the topic on the wishlist and Ranger had a very good idea.  Not sure if it was his idea but he said he would be willing to design a new map for the DA.

Having 3 furball lakes with 30k mountains of Early War Lake, Mid War Lake, and of couse the High Alt Lake or Late War hehe.  I think it's a brillant idea and would put people who would like to fly the early war planes an equal opportunity environment.

Also we occassionly set-up a 1on1 field with multiple fighters so if they was a small side field that had all three bases instead of just two it would help out in that instance.

I gotta say it, I agree wholeheartedly take the 47M with 25% and tear into them

I say put a 6k cap like KOTH on the lake only.   That would make things interesting  :t

It would make things interesting and I don't see any problem with it either.  You would still have the picking but awhole lot less because you don't have to climb up to 25k to kill them.   And that would completely stop the base vulching and people would have to learn ACM to stay alive. :aok

I no lot of people re-fur the D.A as a training place for the M.A but there are alot of people who enjoy the fast action fight. Why is it all the M.A pilots down talk the D.A we enjoy the same thing flying and seeing how many kills you can fly away with! There is so many improvements that could be done to make it a better place. If your a M.A kind of place why put your 2 CENT'S in on the D.A!
There has been many great idea's to improve the D.A for what it is,Why can't a furball lake have some of what the M.A is like perk point's be added to the D.A,a two base D.A that had some of those great idea's added to it.WE all spend the same amount every month as M.A pilots.

Ok let me see you

Start from bases some 6k above sea level.
External views are on.
Perk planes are free.

Want some respect, come prove you can cut it in the main arena.
Its not so easy, but its well worth the try. Besides, if you can't cut it there is always the DA.
