See Rule #4

If anyone uses the .report facility to abuse another member of the community, all that person has to do is contact us, and if it is found out the feature was abused, that person's chat is restored and the people who abused the system lose thier privs for 8 days.

Try that in communist China.  Next time, maybe ask a question or two before going off and assuming the worst case scenario and insulting us.  Your choice.  Or you can chose to continue and end up losing your privs to this bulletin board.  It is all about your choices.

You are in early today Skuzzy.

I was gonna post about the "contact HTC re: abuse" but ya' beat me to it.

actually, the best way to not get muted..........talk as if you were talking to a priest, a nun, or a kid.

Great rule o' thumb Cap.  I always use "would I say it in front of a kindergarten class".

The BEST way to not run afoul of being moderated is to not put yourself in that position in the first place.

There is a player who will remain unnamed who constantly blames me for getting muted.  He would start an argument with me and invariably starts personal attacks on me choked full of profanity.  To this player it is MY fault because I MAKE him type such things when we argue.

Now, I am not 100% blameless in this.  I do engage this player in a little verbal "tête à tête", so I do shoulder some of the blame for us having an argument.  I should just .squelch them right off the bat because I DO know better and I know how it is going to end. (many times I do just .squelch, but unfort. not always)  I might add that having an argument with this player is akin to picking a fistfight with a senior citizen quadriplegic.

So I own the fact that I am egging this player on to some small degree.  But it is not my fault that they type what they do.  There really is not a good valid excuse to use profanity in AcesHigh, masked or otherwise.  I did not reach through the internet and force this player to type bad words.  Nobody in this game can MAKE another player use profanity.

So next time think before you type/talk.  Would you type/say that in front of a classroom of kindergarten students?

See Rule #4

Insult them back all you want.  Just don't use profanity and keep it light.
(and try to be at least a little creative about it.  style points matter)

(and FYI gpa3 it's HiTech)

Rule of thumb:

Would you say it to your Mother?

If you tell your Mother or Father or boss "F that" are they ok with that?

Ha.. your way off the mark there.

I couldn't care less what you do as long as you keep it civil and are not trying to ruin the game for others.

There are some groups out there that will mass report though for no reason what-so-ever. They can get in trouble for doing that too.

That would be kinda hard to prove. Not like they leave DNA evidence or crime scene video of them talking to each other on team chat.

There are two teams that hang out in DA. They have laid claim to two countrys. They pitch out insult after insult from their two teams to anyone who does not fly by 'their rules'. It is constant and non-stop abuse. But I'm sure they will lay low for a while since people they don't like are getting silenced. They got what they wanted after all. Why not just give people a way of turning off the chat box (or perma-block as someone else requested) so we don't have to read their non-stop insults while we are trying to play a game.

Some other ways you could stop the constant chat abuse in the DA is to make the program not allow any head on shots, no shooting allowed unless you are over the lake, no shooting unless you are in same exact plane as your opponent, no shooting if more than two planes are within 1k of each other, no shooting unless you are same altitude as your opponent, no shooting unless you ask permission from the opponent and all his team members first. As long as the program allows these type kills, I will assume they are legal kills and I will report 100% of the abusers from now on.

Oh but they do leave evidence. It is just not available to me and you.

I'd like to see a permanent squelch function though sure enough. There's a few guys in the game that just don't have anything to say that I want to hear or see, nor are they likely to in the near future and having to squelch them on each relog is needlessly tedious.

First off HTC can review the chat logs of the DA.  Secondly the team chat option I'm sure Skuzzy can also see that text as well, if not your recored video footage would be sufficient.

As far the the two teams from two different claimed country's- the bases cann't be captured  :lol had to throw that one in there.  I've been in the DA now for 9 months and I don't recall seeing your name in there and after 15,000 sorties I would seem to think I would.  But's lets say you do go in there WHY?  All these complaints why do you go in there, makes no sense.  If your not having fun or enjoying the game why are you not in the MA.

The DA has changed alot over the past 2 months.  It use to be a fun furball but it's not anymore.  Maybe be a good thing I don't know but I've switched to flying in the MA and have joined up with the Pigs.  I got alot of friends in the DA so I will fly there on occasion for catching up purposes.

I'm sure with your computer skills you can design that program your talking about and I'm sure Skuzzy will take a look at it for implementing it.  No, but on a more serious note the lake is going to be the lake until they take it away.  Taking away the lake might not be a bad thing and making the side fields inviteable only. The side fields are the dueling fields.  I got into a few 1on1's over the past week in the lake but it was either early morning or out on the shoreline of the lake.  Your not going to get a 1on1 in the lake at peek times without someone jumping in ___line.

A redesign of the DA that Ranger was talking about would be nice.  Do I look for it in the future no, but it would be nice.   :salute

You probably just grew out of it. The DA has been a cesspool at least since they killed H2H a couple of years ago.
