Heat (1995)

Pacino, De Niro, Kilmer, Sizemore, even a young Natalie Portman. Awesome plot, great acting and the greatest cops n' robbers shootout ever.

"Simon Pegg always does a great job. Spaced anyone?"

Hoho, I live not far from where Pegg and Co. made 'Hot Fuzz', Wells High Street will never seem the same again. :lol

Too right, no thinking person can have only one favourite movie (unless he/she's only ever seen one movie, of course). So here goes . . .

Best fantasy movie: 'Lord of the Rings', with 'Highlander' close behind for its great soundtrack. 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' a close third.
Best aviation movie, peacetime: 'Always'. That opening scene of the PBY water pick-up is a classic.
Best aviation movie, wartime: 'Battle of Britain', with 'Memphis Belle' close on its six and 'Twelve O'Clock High' backing up in third place.
Best infantry movie, WW2: 'Band of Brothers'. Alright, it's a TV series but it's shot to movie standards.  :salute Easy Company.
Best infantry movie, 19th century: 'Zulu'. Brave lot, the Zulus, they took some beating.
Best war at sea movie: 'The Cruel Sea' for WW2, 'Master and Commander' for the sailing era.
Best prisoner-of-war movie: 'Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence'. Blows away the stereotypes, for sure. 'Empire Of The Sun' a very close second.
Best romance: 'Casablanca'.
Best prison movie: 'The Shawshank Redemption'. Magnificent.
Best animation: 'The Jungle Book'. Wonderful soundtrack, a-reeb-ba-do-dah . . .
Best stop-motion animation: Wallace and Gromit in 'A Fine Day Out' with its wonderful riveted-together Moon rocket complete with curtains.
Best 'Western': 'Dances With Wolves', Costner's masterpiece, Frederick Remington's paintings brought to life.
Best 'Eastern': 'Last of the Mohicans'. Daniel Day-Lewis' reloading at the run is something to behold, and Wes Studi's Magua is superb.

That'll do, off to rest me eyes now.

The Edge, by far is the best movie in my opinion.

Lol, yeah, I'm not too generous to people who try to shoot me, regardless of previous ties.

My vote for the best movie of all time is 12 Angry Men, 1958 Henry Fonda.  :bolt:

A very good movie indeed.

I just could not pic one. There are so many. None I would say in recent years.

Hard to pick just one, but, what the heck ...

"Animal House"  - Why I went to college.

Runners up:
"Kentucky Fried Movie"  - Fist Full of Yen?
"Airplane"  - Picked a bad week to stop sniffing glue.
"Hot Shots"  - Barkely and Laimbeer in the bar fight scene.
"Fast Times at Ridgemont High" - Already cited.
"Caddy Shack"  - Most quotable + classic Rodney.

Too many to pick.
