Thats a big imagination considering bilge pumps are in the bottom of the ship, below the armor.

Destroyers were unarmored, but both fleet carriers and cruisers had armored belts as well as thinner armor covering other vitals.  Cruisers, fleet carriers and battleships would not be vulnerable to aircraft guns.

Fix the damn puffy ack which has now ruined the fun of having an enemy CV near your base, and/or the ability of one suicide 190 to take the use of bombs away from a base. Then we'll talk about making CVs realistically proof against strafing...
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

Thats a good point because I dont think ammo bunkers should be strafeable either.

Question: -

If loadsa MkI Hurricanes armed only with .303s continually strafed a hanger (or any destroyable object) - would it eventuall be destroyed? I.e. does an object simply accumulate 'hit points' before being destroyed when the total exceeds the 'defense value' of the object?

My guess is that for any object (like a CV) there'd have to be a minimum size of weapon before damage can be accumulated. Surely firing 303s at a hanger or CV would have no cumulative effect.

How does AH do it?
Here we are, living on top of a molten ball of rock, spinning around at a 1,000mph, orbiting a nuclear fireball and whizzing through space at half-a-million miles per hour. Most of us believe in super-beings which for some reason need to be praised for setting this up. This, apparently, is normal.

Yes.

However, some objets do have some sort of armor - and the CV is one of them. Go offline and spawn a PT boat at a friendly task group, then start to shoot at it with your guns. Depending on caliber & angle, you will notice bullets glancing off.
