So the purpose of having a glider is to have one C47 fly to base#1 drop 10 troops and then fly to base#2 and drop the next 10?

Not all, but that does appear to happen with about 50% of the players. But I was kind of talking fighters there.

Just based on what I've seen flying bombers (lack of large numbers of other planes at any substantial altitude) and fighters (reletavily large number of low flying [sea level almost] bombers), you are right that bish do fly NOE's quite a bit.
